My 1997 sunfire has a problem where the domelight stays on after the car is shut off and doors are closed. we have replaced the fuse, but it still happens. The only way to shut it off is to take the fuse out.

I just went out to my car, and noticed the ds headlamp is hanging out.. It appears that the bracket holding the headlight broke.. Right around the plastic part, that the screws go into.. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and how hard is it to fix it.. Thanks in advance....

Thank you in advance. I have two cars, one is a 2002 Honda Accord Value Package and the other is a 2002 Acura 3.2 TL Type S. My question is, approximately how much gas is left in the tank and how much longer can I drive after the orange gas light comes on?

I drive an older car (94 Chevy Lumina) Runs great but noticed a lit icon on the dashboard. It says !()P Brake.(something similar to that anyway)
Does this mean I need to get brand new brakes or something else. They are sqeeking a lil bit. I dont have an owners manual. Dont want mechanics to take advantage because obviously I have no clue. All answers related to the question are appreciated.

I have an 02 silver v6 and I've never had him detailed before... was wondering what a fair price would be in the Orange County (Fullerton) or SFV area (Granada Hills/Northridge) of Southern California; I've seen prices range from $100-160 for interior/exterior work. I would prefer mobile service so I don't have to drive out there.

We just got the car back from the shop it wouldn't start after stalling in the drive thru at McDonald's. We just had a new battery put in because they told us ours was dead and we had a new alternater put in as they said that was the problem in the first place. The new alternaor was bench tested and was good(it was rebuilt). We can't even get enough power to roll up the window. All dash lights do come on but car doesn't turn over we tried to boost didn't help. Car was only out of the shop for about one hour. It started fine and does make a tick tick tick, sound when you try to turn it on. It is a 2001 Kia Sportage 4wd.

Are there ANY circumstances under which your car insurance company will pay for blown engine or tranny short of an actual collision? I have full coverage.

Now there are a few shallow parallel scratches. The scratches are white... possibly from the concrete. what is the best way to get them off? I've heard brake fluid will do the trick but isnt that bad for paint?

Well, a couple days ago my hubby told me that the car wasn't working properly. The car kept shutting off until the battery just died. So then we went to the store, bought another one and put it on the car and it worked for like a couple hours. We shut off the car to go and eat and when we went back to the car, and it went back to the same state that it was before until it shut off and the new battery also died.

This car is a Plymouth Neon, 1995, manuel transmission.

What could be the problem and what can we do to solve it?
Will it be expensive?

Thanks Much

Just bought a low miliage older car, only 43,000 older lady hardly drove it mostly all parts wires & hoses, oil change, & a tune up, new plugs have been done also. Why is it hesitating when I try to take off from a stop sign or light, I have no pick up what so ever & it seems to be trying to change gears, is this a fuel filter or transmission problem? It kinda hesitates at lights and I just had water pump changed too, when I crank it up sometimes I have to give it a tap of gas or it will shut off but once i do that it starts right up & drives, engine seems very strong and 2 mechanics said they don't see anything major wrong the car just has'nt been driven much at all.
I'm told it has a GM engine in it & it's modeled after the Cavalier
Any mechanics help would be great????

I have a 2001 mazda Tribute. The problem is that when I got into the car this morning, the key would not turn. I have tried pulling the steering wheel to the left and right and it does not unlock the ignition. I'm a big guy so its not that I'm not pulling hard enough. The wheels are pointed straight ahead, and the car is on flat ground. When you stick the key (I also tried the spare- no luck) into the ignition, its as if you are sticking the wrong key in. It simply will not turn. I've never had a problem before with it. Does anybody have any ideas? They would be much appreiciated.

All of a sudden, the fan on my AC/heat is randomly stopping then
turning itself back on. It doesn't matter what the setting is and
there doesn't seem to be any reason for it to turn on or off. Any
advice would be appreciated.

if the tranny gets overfilled and it gets into the mechanisms will it cause the tranny to sift weird, or how will i know if it has hurt the tranny? I recently had an engine put in my car and there was nothing wrong with it b4. now it shifts bad. idles at high rpms. sometimes driving it feels like its in neutral. it leaks tranny fluid now, but i thinkits coming out of the bottom of the dipstick, top of the tranny because my dipstick is loose but i really can't tell where it comes from. it drips and runs along the bottom of the pan. have suggestions on anything. thank greatly appreciate it.

A family member's car broke down while visiting a friend in another city. The transmission had gone. Our family member had to tow the van to the mechanic, and was told the shop was replacing the tranny with a rebuilt. Well, the rebuilt didn't work. So the shop replaced it again, incl. a 3 month warranty in the $1200 cost.

The warranty is up in 2 weeks, and the transmission just gave out. Our family member called the shop, who said our family member must tow it to them in their city. The cost will be over $300, and they have under 2 weeks to get the money, and get it towed there or pay all over again locally for another new transmission.

Does this sound fair? Is it just dumb luck, or is the mechanic in any way resposible, since it will be the 2nd transmission that didnt work? Do we have any alternatives to this dilemma?
