Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Disconnect the main battery positive conection to the alternator (10mm nut). Disconnect the electrical connector by depressing the lock tab, and pulling connector outward. Release belt tension, with a 3/8" drive ratchet inserted into the square hole on the belt tensioner (passenger side, on the bottom), and pulling in the proper direction to enable belt removal. Remove the three alternator bolts (15mm). Installation is reverse of removal. Hope this helps.

The biggest obstacle is removing & reinstalling the sepintine belt. If the diagram is missing on the belt routing, take a picture with a digital camera or draw a diagram. Some of the belt configerations are a little trickey.

Disconnect the battery.

The alternator should be very staight forward to remove. Check the replacement to ensure the correct pulley, plugs, & mounting holes.

Seems like dud electrical connections, dodgy voltage regulation or perhaps the alternator diodes are poor, if they are not attached to the alt. and have been replaced with it. Were all wires tightened up after the new alt. was installed? As duster says, it is possible that the replacement alt. is faulty, but I'd look elsewhere first.

Make sure to unhook the negative battery cable before you do anything. It's the black cable with a possible "-" right next to it.Also draw up the belt routing so you can put it back on right.
