We just got the car back from the shop it wouldn't start after stalling in the drive thru at McDonald's. We just had a new battery put in because they told us ours was dead and we had a new alternater put in as they said that was the problem in the first place. The new alternaor was bench tested and was good(it was rebuilt). We can't even get enough power to roll up the window. All dash lights do come on but car doesn't turn over we tried to boost didn't help. Car was only out of the shop for about one hour. It started fine and does make a tick tick tick, sound when you try to turn it on. It is a 2001 Kia Sportage 4wd.

i own a repair shop, and you need to call the repair shop back ,but don't fool with it any at all ,call them and have them repair it like they should have to begin with,in short they didn't do there job very well, and id take it back or have them come get it at there cost ,not yours, you paid for it to be repaired right ?,so make them repair it,if you mess with it in any way they wont have to touch it,they can say you messed it up after they repaired it,believe me i been in this for 36 yrs, good luck i hope this helps.

Your first problem was you paid for a rebuilt alternator.

You get what you pay for. Buy a NEW alternator. In the meantime it's going to drain your brand new battery too.

The only thing you should have to pay for when you take it back is for an upgraded alternator. The rest is "on them".
