Whats all involved of rebuilding a carburator? I know you clean it, change out the gaskets, but is that it? What else do you need to do?

The carburator is a 2 barrel from a 1967 Camaro.

i bought a part about 6 months ago for a 1996 buick skylark custom. the part didnt fix the problem and i dont know if its the timing or some electrical problem. when i start it, it stays started for a minute or 2 and then it dies and i start it again and its dies within 10 seconds and it backfires a bit sometimes and shakes when its dieing. its not idling like it should be. i have to step on the gas and the break to put it in drive or reverse to keep it from dieing. can someone tell me whats wrong with my car? it would help a lot thanks!!

The car also uses an excessive amount of oil and the engine misses constantly; at idle or at any speed. When I have oil added the check engine light goes off, but only for a few days.

My Grand Am has been displaying "add coolant" once a month since December. I've taken it to the dealer each time; they couldn't find a leak. They even put dye in the coolant and looked the engine over with a black light. Yesterday, they had me leave the car overnight and called this am to tell me the "intake" is causing the problem. I was told it will take from Friday through Monday or Tuesday to fix and the cost will be $1015. I have no idea what an intake is or what it does. If I don't get it fixed will the car stop running or will I just have to keep adding antifreeze every month? Is the cost reasonable?

I have a Renault Clio 2001, and the problem is that there is water leaking out of it somewhere. It is not leaking continuosly but all at once and then stops, i have spoken to three mechanics and they dont have a clue, it is not building pressure as yet but they think it might be the start of the head gasket going.... Any ideas?? Thanks!

hey folks, I have a 99 Honda Passport and feel like the shocks/strutts need to be replaced. Anybody have an idea on how much that will cost? I haven't had the vehicle long, but by suspicion is that those need to be replaced because it rides rougher than I feel like it should. I don't, however, want to pay more than I need to. Any thoughts are appreciated.

1 - What work and parts are used? (Can anyone quote a website?)

2 - I've been quoted £190 for the 24,000 mile service. Is that about right?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 2004 Toyota Camry. A belt either slid off, or snapped, and it will not allow me to turn my car, easily at least. I did NOT drive anywhere with the car in this condition to avoid further damage, but I don't want to go to the dealer, and look stupid. AAA is towing it for me shortly.

The car DOES go back and forth however.

I have a '91 Aerostar with a 4.0L engine and a '91 Explorer 4WD with a 4.0L engine. The Aerostars transmission is newly rebuilt but the engine is toast. Can I put the Aerostars transmission in the Explorer? They are both A4LD transmissions.

So lately my car has had a problem with getting going from complete stops, it is as though the transmission isnt "catching". This only happens sometimes maybe like 1 out of 5 times I accelerate from a stop and it won't "catch" for a second or two. It doesn't happen when already driving and switching between gears. Also I have had a small transmission leak for a couple of months, but have been checking the trans fluid and it has always been full. My car is a 94 Toyota Camry with about 160,000 miles. So my question is does anyone with experience know what might be going on, does the fluid need to be changed, leak need to be fixed, is the transmission dieing, any idea how fast it would take to be completely useless if it is dieing (A month, a year)? Im almost definetly not going to replace the whole transmission (due to car age and mileage) but could it be just a simple piece that might be able to be fixed relatively inexpensively??

Thanks

Anyone know what is the liquid that body shop use to wipe off the scratch on car? My car's bumper got a "white mark/scratch" after I got hit by a sign on the highway. then i went to the body shop, ppl in there can easily wipe that "white mark" off by a liquid on a cloth? First I thought that cannot be wipe off and i need to repaint the bumper, cuz I had tried to wipe that off at home by using water.

91 Buick Regal Limited 3.1 Liter V6. I turn the key to start and it acts like it wants to start, but it never turns over. Sometimes it will start but it cut off yesterday. I checked my fuses and fuse was really loose. Now its out. Could that be why it would do that? I'm thinking also that it might be the gas pump.
