I tried to start the car but it felt like the battery was dead but it wasnt, I was able to use the electrics on the car perfectly fine...the engine wasnt turning over...what the hell is wrong? I brought it to a mechanic and hes going to look at it today but I really need to know quickly because I have a feeling this crap is going to cost me ALOT of money and I am really pissed right now!

You want worst case? Siezed. you lost all your oil, the engine could not stay lubricated and cool, it over heated, now it wont turn because, basicly, everything isnide is melted together. Very rough description, but I say that about worst case.

Bear in mind, that is worst case, but it may not be that. but you should have pulled over and shut the car off as soon as that light came on.

If you lost oil pressure and then you were able to start it again, but it shut off again, do not try to start it again. This may be the cars computer shutting it off when it gets too hot to avoid internal engine damage.

Best Case...you lost your drain plug and all your oil and you vehicle did what it was suposed to, it shut the off so no damage could happen. All that will need to be done is put a new plug in it, fill it back up on oil and check your coolant level. I highly doubt it is only that, but its possible, but, I also doubt that your engine siezed.

hard to say what it will be, hope this gives some insight and helps you some.

When the oil light comes on you should pull over and turn engine off because this shows no oil pumping through motor which will cause engine to freeze, very costly.
