YOU DON"T---you go into a shop and have it checked, could just be a frame sensor connection. By messing with it--you can set it off in your face and drive your head into the head liner (you have no forward momentum why just sitting there) now the cost really have been driven threw the roof to fix it.

Early Vectras had a sensor wire under the drivers seat secured by velcro which could become detached, even just by adjusting the seat sometimes. Check this and re-attach it if it is loose. However you will still need to get a Vauxhall dealer to get the light turned off. Not sure if this applies to later cars but worth checking.

You must have the SRS checked with a scanner. A lot of the time, the clock spring in the steering wheel wears out but this is a guess. The scanner will tell you exactly what is wrong. With the warning light ON you have no air bag system. Be careful!

Either stab it with a screwdriver, crash your car into something to activate the airbag, or alternatively take your car to a Vauxhall dealership and ask them.
