the differential in my 1963 chevy 1/2 ton pickup ate a bearing.

It was the one on the "third member" shaft
(the part that connects to the driveshaft)

I replaced the bearing and have it all back together now.
What torque wrench setting should I use when reinstalling the brackets that hold the races on the axle bearings? what about the pin that holds the rod in the center that keeps everything in place?

any other helpful hints?

thank you

1994 Chevy K1500 P/U 5.7 liter 350 4X4 5 speed. When the truck is under a hard pull the valves start knocking, the knock sensor adjust the timing and the check engine light comes on. The code for the light is "not detecting knock sensor". I have changed the pcv valve (which was suggested) and no change. This has went on for about 5 years. Doesn't matter the grade of fuel I use. Routine maintance and tune ups have been done to this truck. The converter was taken off 7 years ago because it was clogged. The truck runs rich after the timing adjust. The light resets itself when it is turned off. ( the code is saved)

Looks like seller had oil changed every 5K miles by the dealer except for once it went 15K (9 months) with no service (based on dealer maintainence record) -- I know that's not good but if all other oil changes were as recommended by Toyota (5K) and I am scrupulous with future maintainence, what kind of life expectancy does the engine probably have? I'd like it to last past 200K at least, it has 50K currently and I'll be driving 100 miles a day every day....

I have replaced the Spark Plugs, Plug wires, Ignition Coil Pack, and Ignition coil pack wiring harness. I still get the same code before all the things I replaced which was P0305? What is wrong with my Ford Econline 150, 6 cylinder van? How do I trouble shoot this matter? Thanks

Ok, my husband drives a '81 Ford F100 truck less than 5 miles to his work and back every day. How often should we change the oil? We usually do it once or twice a year. Is this bad for the truck? It has been in my family since it was bought new and it was my fathers pride so we want to take good care of it. Thanks for any help!!

My 98 Jeep Grand cherokee eats batteries at least one a year! I checked the alternator/starter/ wires and there all good. It charges fine ,but at least one a year i have to buy a new battery? The first one was a el-cheapo so I thought that was the reason. But every battery after that has been a Very expensive on like Interstate-Duralast and now a Optima I just bought last year this April is DEAD!?? It's on a charger now. Should i just get cheap ones again? They last just as long as the pricy ones.Maybe get one WAY BIGGER than I need or the biggest i can fit in the battery bay?

I think I may need new shocks on my honda crv. I'm just not sure of the tell tale signs. The usual sign of course would be if and when one hits a bump the vehicle may rock more than necessary or bounce more than normal. Thanks for any and all help in advance.

My fuse that controls my blinkers blew out yesterday. I got a new one today and replaced it. The new fuse blew out almost immediately.

It is my understanding that there is probably a 'short' in my dash which is causing the fuse to blow. Can somebody please explain exactly what that means and what it is going to take to get it fixed.

My blinkers were working fine yesterday afternoon, and then by last night they were not.

I dont have a car yet but when I get one im thinking about buying a short-ram air intake. I want an exhaust system too but I dont like the sound of some of them, is it because the crappy ones I hear are cheap systems? All your Feedback will be very appreciated.
