I have replaced the Spark Plugs, Plug wires, Ignition Coil Pack, and Ignition coil pack wiring harness. I still get the same code before all the things I replaced which was P0305? What is wrong with my Ford Econline 150, 6 cylinder van? How do I trouble shoot this matter? Thanks

P0305 can be caused by the following:
bad spark plug on cylinder #5
bad spark plug wire on cylinder #5
bad coilpack
bad fuel injector on cylinder #5
bad PCM (not likely)
base engine concern causing low/no compression on cylinder #5 (broken valve spring, collapsed valve, piston damage, pushrod damage, cam lobe damage to cylinder #5)
With that said, you could start by swapping components between cylinder #5 and another known good cylinder. If the misfire follows the swapped part, that is the part that has failed. Failing all that, a compression test is in order, which will lead you to the eventual cause, if compression is in fact, low. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you've put alot into it. Assuming that the parts you've replaced are good, OE components, then the only thing left in the ignition system is the ignition control components, which may be a separate module, or may be driven by the powertrain control module. Apart from that, the next logical place to check would be a failing fuel injector. In order to diagnose this you will need to see if the injector is getting injector pulse, and then if so you can use a basic stethoscope to check whether or not the injector is 'clicking' open. If it is, then you will have to have a labscope to look at the waveform pattern and see when the pintle is moving. If it is moving, and the misfire is fuel related, you will typically see the pintle movement at the very top of the waveform. It needs to open about two thirds of the way up in order to be open long enough to allow the right amount of fuel in. These are only basic directions and where I would start if the vehicle was in my facility. If this is something that you want to turn over to a professional, I recommend finding a Blue Seal rated facility on ASE.com. This elite certification is given to only 3-4% of the shops in the nation and gives you better piece of mind knowing you have found a shop that is in the top of the field to find this problem without costing anymore of your money throwing parts at it without really solid reasons. Keep in mind that if a OBD2 error code states a # 3 cylinder misfire it s referring to the 3rd in the firing sequence NOT the number 3 cylinder. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, Honda it doesn t matter, when any OBD2 error code names a cylinder by number it s referring to the firing order NOT the cylinder number.

hi, b4 u go thru changin injectors and swapping a bunch of parts try this, these are bad for setting misfires cuz of egr, the egr ports will plug up, theres an egr port for every cyl, if 5 of them plug up, guess what, all the egr is going to 1 cyl, wich causes a misfire, so, can u feel the miss going down the road ? if so, unplug the egr valve, its under the air tube in front of engine, just take the vacuum line off, drive it again, does it miss ? if not the problem is in the egr, wich i suspect is your problem, to fix, remove intake, by each intake runner u sill see a port where the egr comes out, clean the carbon out of those ports.

I had a ford v6 (1994) in my shop once witha constant misfire code. it was in dire need of a tune up so i assumed that would fix it. it came back and upon further investigation found one of the catalytic converters plugged. How is it running since the tune up?

before to change anything You should come and ask.

OK....loose wiring at injector of the cylinder five? or faulty injector?

please do not just change parts, TEST THEM!!!!

remove the injector from cylinder five and , install it in the cylinder one ,and viceversa.
scanning again ....the code should be cylinder one misfire....
replace the faulty injector.
