I would like to replace the hydraulic lifts on both the rear liftgate and window. Is there any special tools/precautions that need to be taken? I have the OEM Ford CD and could not find it. Please help!!!!

The only special tool needed is a tiny flat blade screwdriver. Have an assistant hold the tailgate open as you remove the retaining clips that secure the struts to pivots. Installation of the replacement struts is simple. Just "snap" the new struts onto the pivots. Hope this helps.

their called strong arms. you can probably buy them at any auto parts store. they usually come with instructions for installing them. be care full with the new ones. sometimes the factory ones are metal end and the replacements are plastic and fragile. good luck
