I dont have a car yet but when I get one im thinking about buying a short-ram air intake. I want an exhaust system too but I dont like the sound of some of them, is it because the crappy ones I hear are cheap systems? All your Feedback will be very appreciated.

Definately go with a cold air intake...replace the factory air box.
Replace the cataytic converter with a hi-flo cat...less restriction=more hp
Replace the muffler with a performance one. Look at getting a Flo-Pro V-Force Muffler. These are the same thing as a Flowmaster, but at half the price. I have the Camaro style on my Riviera and it sounds awesome!
www.flopro.com (they also have sound clips from different vehicles with different mufflers)
Look into buying a performance chip for your vehicle...they can give you an extra 10-30 hp.
new muffler and catalytic converter=15-30 hp
cold air intake=5-20 hp
performance chip=10-30 hp

really man depending on what you purchase will definetly determine how much you spend in mods. By far the best thing I can think of is a computer programmer. (only because it appears to me that you are young). then a decent exhaust system and maybe an intake. but other than that it is all big money.GOOD LUCK I might suggest for a starter car would be a toyota or honda(more expensive). Only because of the huge supply of aftermarket tuner parts. If you are looking for less expensive but, still reliable I would suggest a mitsubishi lancer or even a nissan altima.

Add an ECU chip to your car if it's newer than about 1999.
Most performance gains are realized by adjusting the ignition timing advance to suit High-Density High-Octane gasoline without pre-ignition detonation or pinging. Manufacturers generally design for the 'lowest common denominator' fuel available and limit performance accordingly. Changing the engine tune specifically to suit better fuel results in slight increases in performance.
A common approach to ECU tuning used by tuners and gearheads who like to modify their cars involves adjusting the air-fuel mixture and spark timing maps for greater power, or to smooth out drops in power. While requiring extensive knowledge and expertise, this modification can often result in significant power increases without any additional changes to the vehicle. However, a poorly tuned ECU can result in decreased performance, driveability, and may even cause engine damage. An aftermarket ECU can expand a car's potential, as well as optimize existing performance attributes.

A good set of headers will make it sound great and probably up to 10% horsepower,
If it is carboureted a larger carb with more fuel capacity can help. If fuel injected computers then modified micro performance computer chips can change performance quite a bit.

Sorry to assist you recognize certainly you would be unable to, it may cost a number of thousand to alter the engine to get any kind of genuine power out of it. yet then in case you had that kind of money it may of direction be much less annoying to easily placed that funds in the direction of a GT particularly of dropping it on a pre-2011 V6. you're able to have nicely-known that in case you will performed a sprint analyze on it till now figuring out to purchase the vehicle yet now like one million different young ones that have asked the right comparable question on right here assuming they'd, you're actually caught w/ a V6 and in all risk a sprint purchasers sense sorry approximately.

most of all hp would be a cam and then port the heads,ECM upgrades, headers throttle body, injectors, bore and stroke all are under 1000 by them selves and all are good for hp but all should be done. turbos are a bolt on hp but done right its well over 1000. if its under that for a turbo it not going to help with hp that much.
