I have a 1998 Ford Taurus with the duratec engine. The oil light came on and I couldn't get it to go off. On my way to work that morning, the car cut off on me and I took it to get an oil change. The light went off for a day and came back on. The car has been parked since. I was told it may be an oil intake valve and not the oil pump. It also has a small oil leak and has an exhaust leak and needs a doughnut. I don't know what to do with it. Should I get it fixed, rebuild or replace the engine? I was told I may have warped the heads (I think). Please help!!!!!!!

On average, how much do mechanics charge to fix a heating system in a car. I think my heater works, its just that the wires are crossed or something, sending the heat to the wrong vents.

Recently I have been experiencing some difficulty controlling my car. I have to overcompensate my steering to keep the car from swerving, even when going at slow speeds. The roads in Chicago can be somewhat harsh, so I'm wondering what is the problem. Do I need a wheel alignment or something else? I tried driving my car down the block at a slow speed while turning my steering wheel left and right. The car did not respond until I made sharp corrections with the steering wheel. Before I take the car to the shop, I'm hoping someone out there can advise me on what I'm looking for and what I should do. Is it an alignment problem or something else connected with the steering mechanism? The two may be the same, but I'm no mechanic.

I know there are a lot of questions like this on q&a, but I feel as though mine is slighty different. I am considering buying (for free) an old GMC Sierra pickup truck, I believe it to be from the late 1980's. It has been sitting in a back yard for 5 years in Massachusetts, so it has been through its share of bad weather. I was told that the last time it was started, was 5 years ago, and ran fine then, but its condition now was unknown. I would imagine it to need a new battery and fluids, but I'm not sure of what else to be looking for. I've been told possibly brake lines, spark plugs, belts, & tires. Is this all true, and if so, is there anything else I should be checking? Is it at all possible to restore this vehicle to daily running condition for under $1,000.00? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I recently noticed a noise coming from under the bonnet of my Vauxhall Corsa. It only seems to happen when I'm going at around 60-70mph. It sounds as thought there is something rattling around underneath the bonnet.

At first I thought it was grit on the road, but I am having second thoughts, and it is slightly concerning me.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I may well be paranoid and it could well be grit/stones on the road, but would like to know in case it is something wrong with the car.

It has been cold lately, so I went out to the garage to let my 71 Impala run and warm up a bit. It turned over ok but I noticed that it idles erratically and not really strong. I hit the accelerator a few times and the engine sounds good. I pulled it out and drove it around a bit and it runs perfectly fine, but when its in park it sounds funny. I was thinking about rotating the distributer a bit to see if that helps. Is there anything else I should check?

It knocks in the mornings and after it has sat for a while or has sat at idle for a long period of time. I am almost certain the am knock is mains, it goes away after a min or two, but then if you leave it at idle it starts to knock again and it changes tone more like a rod. I have taken it a GM dealer and they say it is normal for this motor to have bearing noise, they even printed me a TSB on this. Well I dont know of any motor I have built to have a knock that was suposed to be there. Anyone else know of a simular situation?

ANS: The technology is used for preventing and increase life of tubular battery about 20 Years!!!!. The technology is given to patent (che: 700)... The system helps to keep always above minimum level of acid in each shell of the battery.
If any shell(s) contains low acid level the system will "ask” for distilled water immediately cut off charger circuit, displays which shell need distilled water..
YUO NEED JUST INJCT DISTILLED WATER WHILE ASKING!
48 volt battery need to manage 24 shells!!!. All will set automatically

i already brought it to the garage 2 times the first time he said he replaced the thermostat . but it was stil happening and then i brought it to another garage at first he checked the thermostat and noticed that the gasket for the themostat looked old and falling apart as if the other machanic didnt change it like he said he did.so my friend replaced the thermostat. after hooked it up to a small handheld computer with the car running and he said that everything seemed fine the fan was kicken on at 217 F we replaced the coolent temp sensor also do u think there could still be air bubbles in the lines or sumthing cus when he put the radiator cap back on after bleeding it there was still bubbles comin out of the radiator. or would it be the gauge cus 2 different machanics looked at the engine, the thermostat, the tempsensor but for all i know havent looked the wir that connects to the sensor and the guage in the dash .
p.s this cars like 13 yrs old

The car is a 2000 Lexus ES 300. It has 108,000 miles and the rattle just started. It seems to move sometimes from the door to the passenger side dashboard, but mostly in the door. It sounds like something is loose and vibrating. Can I dismantle the door? I am not especially mechanical. Can I trust a Lexus dealer? The car has been regularly serviced by a dealer.
