Does anyone know the normal temperature for a 2006 LS Chevy Cobalt or what temperature is too hot?

The normal expected running temperature of the cobalt should be at least 200° F and as much as 245° is acceptable. At this range, no damage will be done to the engine. This is the range it has been designed to run.

In general, if the temp stays in one particular location on the gauge, everything is normal.

Most cars have thermostats that open around 220 degrees
