Okay, A friend of mine just bought a 1999 Malibu (((YESTERDAY))). She calls me tonight and said first her heater went out the she heard a loud noise. Once she gets it here, i first check the water level and there was none. She just put antifreeze along with water an hour previous to her coming here. What do you think your opinion is along the lines of what is it from no heater and radiator holding no water.

I've had a problem with my 92 miata. At first it had a hesitation and idling problem which was fixed because I had a bad MAF sensor. During that time the car was running rich. I'd get about 200 miles or less to the tank (that's really bad for a little miata). My plugs are new, oxygen sensor is good, and I believe the timing is fine too. But for some reason it's still seems to get bad mileage. I was told it can be the cat. I need input! Help!

I have a 2001 Honda Accord stick shift. It's only got 46,000 miles on it. Just a few days ago a problem started... I am unable to shift into 4th gear. No problem w/ any of the other gears. I can go from 3rd to 5th but can't get it into 4th. i've tried not lowering the clutch all the way, I've tried pressing the clutch thru the floor boards, I've tried to manuver it in every way to get it into 4th but it won't budge. BUT, like I said it goes smoothly into all other gears! Any idea what's wrong?

Tuesday afternoon me and my ex brother inlaw were trying to put some new headlampos in my Chevy truck. My crazy number 2 exwife knocked them out with a jack handle and I had taped a couple of big flash lights on the fenders but the cops pulled me over and said the only reason I wasnt going to jail was because he was laughing so hard. (another sad story). While we were working on the headlights I guess we unpluged a wrong wire and the airbag light came on. I was sitting in the trruck watching the light and my ex brother inlaw was fooling around with the wires trying to fix it when BANG. That dang ole airbag damn near knocked me through the back window. It also pushed both my hands into my face so now I got 2 black eyes to boot. Can I just cut the dang thing off and keep driving it? The other side airbag didn't blow up, just the one on the wheel. I swear, does anybody else in the world have problems like I do?

After reading around on the net about similar problems, I think my problem may be bad bushings on my shocks or leaf springs. Is it possible to replace or lubricate these bushings by myself? Or will I have to have the shocks replaced? About how much does all of this stuff usually cost?

I know I have a bad fuel pump in my 2000 Alero. It just started acting up 3 days ago and occasionally, but not often, cuts out. I want to drive to a car dealership to trade in but it is about 90 miles away. Any thoughts on if this is a horrible idea or if it will continue to start after it stalls for one last trip??? Thanks for your help.

I recently had the oil changed on my new car by the selling dealer. The dipstick now shows 1/2 quart to much oil in the pan.
Is it now standard to put extra oil in a vehicle.

Thanks, John

I need to replace the timing belt on my 1987 Chevy Spectrum.. I have everything out of the way, but i just cant get the bolt out that holds on the harmonic balancer/crankshaft pully dampener!!
I've used my impact wrench on it, no luck at all.. even had my friend hold it while i went for the breaker bar..
Anyone hae an idea, or maybe a secret on what to do? My chilton manual doesn't describe anything.. just: remove it with a puller.. yeah i cant remove it with my puller until i get that bolt out!

The problem may be obvious enough, but I just wanted to put it out there in case a more experienced "car person" would know.

I hear (& actually kinda *feel*) a dry grinding sound whenever I hit the brakes. Even at slower speeds.

Brake problem, right?

If so, how much would a typical brake fix go for?
