Tuesday afternoon me and my ex brother inlaw were trying to put some new headlampos in my Chevy truck. My crazy number 2 exwife knocked them out with a jack handle and I had taped a couple of big flash lights on the fenders but the cops pulled me over and said the only reason I wasnt going to jail was because he was laughing so hard. (another sad story). While we were working on the headlights I guess we unpluged a wrong wire and the airbag light came on. I was sitting in the trruck watching the light and my ex brother inlaw was fooling around with the wires trying to fix it when BANG. That dang ole airbag damn near knocked me through the back window. It also pushed both my hands into my face so now I got 2 black eyes to boot. Can I just cut the dang thing off and keep driving it? The other side airbag didn't blow up, just the one on the wheel. I swear, does anybody else in the world have problems like I do?

Yea, well the bodyshop dude said he never saw one go off like that either but it dang shore did. That fool Rusty had cut a bunch of wires behind the grill and trying to tape them all back together and I had the key on waiting for the light to go back off when it happened. I do realize this kind o f crap could only happen to me.

LMAO - that was a funny story. I doubt anyone else has problems like you do! I think you make us all look pretty lucky - thanks. I don't think it is actually legal, but you certainly can drive it like that - it won't hurt anything. But just to even it up, why don't you sit on the passenger side while your buddy plays with the wires some more. That was funny - I'm still laughing

wow, usually the vehicle has to have a vss input to the computer along with inputs to the sdm to make any airbag go off.there is a sensor in the front that measures deaccelaration and compares it with vehicle speed.something is wrong with your wiring in a bad way.but if you remove the airbag and unhook the wires you can drive your vehicle with no problem, and no air bag.the airbag light in the dash will stay on solid.

well most cases you can by a dummy air bag with looks like one but its not getting one used from a salvage yard is pretty pricy in most cases your insurance company finds out your air bag it out they total your car and that sucks and yes you can get a ticket for riding on a deployed air bag because all law enforcment agencys know you must notify you insurance company if they think your hiding somthing so my best advice notify your insurance company tell them what happend get a letter from them stating they know keep it in your car better safe than sorry oh by the way your story is pretty funny

Yah you can. As long as you didn't try to cut it when it first deployed you're fine. My ex was in an accident and tryed to remove the air bag right away and burned his hands pretty bad.

I cut a deployed air bag from an S-10 pickup. All it takes is a sharp knife and a few minutes.

Thanks I needed a laugh! C'mon that didnt happen. Airbags cant deploy from crossing wires. They are deployed from a shock sensor.
