Maintenance & Repairs - February 2007

I have a 2000 Ford f150 4x4. When I go to cold start it, it makes a deep seize noise, and the rpm 's seem restricted, and tries to die. When I hold my foot on the gas, for about 30 seconds, the rpm's will break free then the truck will idle fine then run good all day. I changed the fuel filter, and it didnt fix it, and the truck only has 45,000 miles on it.

Black box near gas peddel hanging and red wire, thin black wire and a purple stubbie wire all lose hanging.
Due to monkey amp istall. Alarm goes off while driving.
No affordable mechainc to fix it for me

I seen them in a truck stop a few years ago(actually bought a couple, worked good). I would like to find them again. They looked like a beer koozie, but fit tight over a baldwin 970. They seemed to keep cold air off of the primary filter well enough to help prevent fuel gelling. I beleive they were called Filterkoozies.

I own a 96 chevy blazer, LS 4wd, 4d, First the brakes started squeaking, i assumed it was the brakes, but dad didn't do anything about it, continuted to drive it, then the squeky squeaky got worse, like really loud, now when im driving down the road the squeaking continues but there is a new sound, it sounds like i have a flat tire, like , thump thump thump thump, but no flat tire, does the thumps have anything to do with the brakes? have they got really bad cuz i havn't fixed them yet or what? All my gauges read normal, so I don't know what's up with this. It had flashed on for five days ,then stopped for 4 days and is doing it again. I had it at the mechanic last week for inspection, but since it stopped flashing, I didn't know if he could check it out.

I want to put dual pipes on my car but i don't want to run all new pipes and catalytic converters etc.... all i want to do is find a muffler with 1 inlet and two outlets. I want it to have a nice sound but not too loud . what muffler is the best for this project

This is some minor damage in the grout in a few places in the kitchen. I mixed some grout and put it in but within a week it all cracked and broke up.

how is the gear shift movement restricted in case of a motorbike?
how is that we always shift from 1-2 not 1-3 directly...i mean what mechanism is used to indicate the shift of a gear.

i need brakes and rotors for my car i took it over to midas and they came back with this long list of over 900.00 worth of stuff that i need done to my car.well they said i need brakes and i know this part is true,and they also said i need rotors,how can i tell if i need these or not?? my brakes are not grinding or anything they are just sqeaking a little....

It will go about 2 mph at 7000 rpms in first gear and eventually up to about 30 mph at 7000 rpms in 5th. I had to see if it would at least move or not.

i have an 87 accord, and when i turn my lights on in the winter time... the dash lights and the tail lights take a minute to come on... but the headlights are on instantly... when the lights do finally come on... i dont hear any clicking from a relay or anything... just silence

vehicle is a 1983 cadillac eldorado
car over heating and passenger compartment is getting steam out of vents without the ac or heater on,
when i tried to turn on the heater i got water coming out from under the dash. i first noticed yesterday that the defroster was not working i turned it on could hear it blowing but no air coming out of the vents

It's been below zero here, My 2007 Hyudai Sonata runs at about 1/4 (normal is 1/2, on the temp. gauge). Is this good, or bad, for your vehicle to run like this. This is after 10 miles. I would think that the cooler an engine runs, the better for the engine.
