Why would someone put a banana in my exhaust pipe ?

it explodes out or cuts the engine
its fun,
potatoes are better
only kids do things like that and infantile adults

there's been a popular belief for years that a banana will keep the exhaust "bottled" up and your car would start running bad, but unless it's a perfect 68-72 degrees out side... the banana eventually turns black and just leaves a mess in your exhaust pipe. i'd say someone wants to annoy you.

I remember a lady on this same web site that was complaining about this guy who lived next door. Her complaint was, that his exhaust was too loud. She asked, what would happen if she put a banana in the tail pipe? Has someone been complaining to you about your exhaust lately?

The banana would cause excessive back pressure in your exhaust and if the engine is small it may not have enough exhaust pressure to blow it out.Large engines develop more pressure. Its an old time trick but potatoes work much better.

Usually people put things in the exhaust pipe to cause a backfire or a exhaust explosion (from the gases being explosively released)

You must have been a tosser to that someone. I did it once. Some b*stard parked right up close to my passenger side in a supermarket car park even though the child seat was quite obvious. So I put a banana up their pipe. Excellent!

To get the exhaust pressure to build up and blow it out the exhaust pipe. Boys will be boys.

Either they thought you were a monkey or they were just messing with you, trying to plug up your exhaust..... this will cause the car not to start after a while.

because theres and old wise tail that if you stuff a bananna in the tail pipe it will block the exaust flow and make the muffler explode...lil do they know all it will do is sit there and rot...to get them back just stuff a shot gun shell in theres...hahaha just kidding dont do that
