the clicking doesn't come form the starter but from a black thing that is beside the battery. The battery is hooked to this black thing and there are other wires connected to it as well. I have wacked the started with a hammer but i don;t thing that that's the problem.

my hubby borrowed my car and when he put it in 2nd gear and put his foot down the lights on the dash went out, The indicator light and the light too tell you the light are on and the clocks are working, weve changed the fuses but still havent solved the problem, if the bulb has gone on the dash how would i change it!! Or do you think it could be a loose connection somewhere and if it is how would i solve that!!!

I drive Toyota Carina 1.3.

Yesterday, while driving, I saw "amber" light popping up on my petrol indicator, showing the car running out of petrol, however, after it remained there constantly, I managed to drive around 5-6 miles.

I just wonder, how many litres/gallons of petrol does car have once it starts to show this amber low-petrol indicator light ???

Riding around town, my sunfire makes a cricket sound occasionally even when the air conditioner or heater/defrost is OFF. It does it more so when I turn or accelerate. It isn't a constant noise just every now and then. Any clue as to what it might be???

I have an 02 chevy blazer n the check engine light came on. I went to autozone so they could help me read the code to see what's wrong but the obd II wasn't reading anything i.e. it was blank. After so many trials, the technician told me that there was no power flowing to the connector because it is supposed to activate the reader. What does this mean and what can i do?

I drained my cooling system and filled it with water. Then I disconnected the outlet side of my heater core and started the car. If I held the outlet hose higher than the water pump nothing came out. If I held the outlet hose lower than the water pump then stream would come out but with no pressure (I easily stopped the flow with my thumb over the end of the hose). I had a garden hose turned on real slow and setting in the radiator so I would not run out of water. I connected the garden hose to the inlet side of the heater core and water came out the outlet hose with no restriction. So I was thinking maybe my water pump is bad. The car does not overheat and the water pump is not making any noises. I removed the belt and wiggled the pulley but could not feel any play. Is there another way to test if my water pump is bad? Sorry this is so long and thanks in advance for any help.

starting problem with citroen synergie:
just hear a click, then nothing. the battery is ok.
There is a red l.e.d that comes on when I try to start, I have not seen it light before.
Can anyone help...

Have been driving the car a lot recently with no problems and simply drove it off the drive to allow a delivery van to get closer to the house, I then reversed the car back onto drive, and now it will not start. Engine turns but will not start. Could this be a relay or electrical problem as the problem just seemed to be instant? Any suggestions on what to look for would be appreciated.

My car suddenly stops pumping oil. I cheked everything but all seems o.k. There is enought oil. screen on the oil pan is clean, change new oil pump, cleaned one mechanical device fould stocked, is has a pistonlike device with a spring and oil seems to run through it. I do not know what it is called. Oil do not even reach oil filter. Help Help. Now I am trying to figure out what should I do next. my friend scratch the door panel of a 96 maza protege we got the estimate back and the owner says the damage is worth 1900 dollars. I don't believe the damage should be that much. I'm looking at the estimate and they have replacing the door. how can that be when he scratch the lower part (the panel of the door) Is this correct or our we getting screwed.

Ok i got this car and i just got a new battery and it died in less than a week so i brought it back they said something was draining the battery well i bought a new alternator put it on so now i have a new battery fully charged and a new alternator ok well i went to crank it up this morning and it was dead..whats causing it to do this?

Hi, my 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback automatic with 2.2l engine is having problems starting. I turn the key, hear a click, and nothing. Sometimes it takes a few clicks, sometime a bunch, but the car will start eventually. I had the battery tested and it is fine. Same was said about my alternator. I am guessing it is not a drain because I can leave it for 2-3 days and it will still start under the same circumstances. I bought a new battery and everything worked fine for about a week until the same problem happened again. I can drive around, turn the car off, and start it up again easily. It is mostly when it has been sitting for a few hours. I had the battery connections replaced and installed. The car doesn't have dim lights and stereo works. I was having a problem a while ago where I couldn't have the stereo and headlights on at the same time. It only lasted a few days. Any ideas?
