Have been driving the car a lot recently with no problems and simply drove it off the drive to allow a delivery van to get closer to the house, I then reversed the car back onto drive, and now it will not start. Engine turns but will not start. Could this be a relay or electrical problem as the problem just seemed to be instant? Any suggestions on what to look for would be appreciated.

I wouldn't have thought it would be an immobiliser as you say the engine turns over ok (most immobilisers I have come across inhibit the starter) so it could then only be a fuel or ignition problem. To test the ignition you could disconnect one of the HT leads and hold it near an earth point while an assistant cranks the engine. A fuel problem will need further investigation. Does the pump whirr when you switch the ignition on? Does the inertia switch need resetting?

it must be straight forward, it must be costly. it ought to nickel and dime you to dying. even in spite of the undeniable fact that OBDII wasn't mandatory till 1996, some autos had it one till now that, i do no longer understand if Jaguar did. If it does, in line with threat there's a saved fault code. it must be a temp, airflow, or cam/crank sensor. it must be gasoline too. that's quite hard to guess what's faulty, as each and every thing is controlled by using a working laptop or pc. Oh, and battery tale feels like bovine excrement. It makes me ask your self what else he's hiding, like how nicely he took care of the fluids. stable success.

First thing to check on that one is the fuel pump relay. Good Luck

Whoever told that a jag was supposed to start, made a practical (and very expensive) joke.

The immobiliser is a prime suspect.
