After I drive my car it smells like sulphur, why? What could that be?

I was in an automobile accident where my car's bumper was replaced and painted. Now 6 months later the paint is chipping, bubbling and peeling. However I have moved 2000 miles away since then and the place I was sent to by the insurance company isnt a chain but an independant business. As well the insurance claim is closed. What is the best cheapest and easiest way to get my car back to normal. Thanks

I have a 1966 Ford Ranchero project car. It is drivable, but I have two kids in car seats, which don't all fit inside, so I don't drive it often. When it sits for more than a few months, the "rubber" seals in the wheel cylinders get hard and freeze up -- no brakes. I am interested in changing to disc brakes to avoid this.

Has anyone done this themselves?
Is it expensive?
Is it a hassle?
Do you do all four wheels?

I am somewhat mechanically inclined, which is to say I can change out parts without breaking anything. I run into trouble when bolt holes don't line up and there are extra parts, etc.

Any advice? Please don't say just drive the car more often.

This typically happens after the car is warmed up but it has happened at all temps. I go to start it and the engine cranks for a little but won't start. It fells like there isn't a spark going to the engine. After a dozen tries it finally starts and runs perfect. It does idle a little rough but once it gets to speed it fells like its brand new. I'm thinking Carb or ignition . Any ideas?

While my car was in the shop yesterday the mechanic changed my cabin air filter. When I picked my car up (after paying him $505) my wiper blades parked up. I took it right back in, he checked under the hood, removed a panel by the windsheild and showed me where they changed the filter.

He said the windsheild wiper switch was no where near where they worked making it clear I could set up another appointment to have that too fixed.

Is there anything I can do at home to fix that? I'm sure if I take it back in there he's going to charge me another $200+/- and I can't afford that.

I have disconnected the battery and have the truck up on ramps with the rear wheels blocked. I removed the 2 bolts holding the starter in and the brace that is next to the starter. There is not enough room to get the starter out. I am obviously missing something but don't know what it is! The frame is below and the exhaust is above, and I cannot even get to the wiring to disconnect them from the starter without removing it.

I just had my 1995 saturn checked out at an aamco shop. the guy said that my car is reading codes 68 @ 95, which means theres too much pressure in the valves(high line ckt circuit line pressure) comming in and out. does that mean I need a new transmission or can I just have the valve fixed ?how much to just fix valve? If I buy a used transmission from a pick a part, how much would it cost in labor to put in new one? thanks everyone...

I only have one issue with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The brake lights do not come on when i press the pedal.I have checked the bulbs and the fuses associated with the brake lights and they still do not work. The upper brake light works and the brake lights do however come on when the lights are on but not when they are pushed by the brake pedal. Can it be a loose connector on the peddle itself? or do you think it is an electrical problem.

We have a 1988 Ford Taurus, and my husband changed the water pump and the car won't keep the fluid in it now and there is no leak because he has checked every where and we can't figure it out and there is no heat either! What do we do to resolve this problem? A very detailed explanation would be appreciated! Nothing we do seems to work! If any body has any suggestions or clues, please let me know ASAP!!

I recently had an oil change and a new pvc valve put on a 94 Mitsubishi Galant. Now the car stalls before changing gears and cuts off frequently when I slow down or come to a stop. What could be the problem?

I don't know if its the transmission or a sensor or something else. I don't know how to check the transmission fluid cause it has a cap not a dipstick. Its a 2000 Daewoo Valiant i think is the model.

I have a 2001 Toyota Camry LE (4 cyl) and occasionaly I put change from regular to premium gas, maybe once every 3-4 months just to clean out some of the impurities. I'm not quite sure if it really makes a difference, but I don't know.. it sounds good. ;)

I know this is not uncomon, in fact I think it happened to me once before, bit I'm not sure it it was with this particular car or one I had previously - same model. on that occasion the garage recitifed it quite easily. However this time it's a different garage, and they tell me it is actually the central locking systems (all the other locks work fine). Has anyone else come across the same issue?

My truck started having problems starting about a month ago after sitting for more than 24 hours. The starter would crank but there wouldn't be any combustion, then it would begin to light off but die, then finally start up after 10 minutes of trying. I took it too the mechanic, he said the fuel pressure was getting low over night and replaced the fuel pump, he also said I had a bad water pump (replaced it) and said the clutch fan wasn't working so fixed that. Now not only does the truck still have trouble starting, it also reacts much differently, losing alot of power, like when I put it in gear I have to rev it up to almost 1800 RPM to get it to move. I took it back, but he says he can't figure out whats wrong because my computer won't communicate with his scanner. Any suggestions?

Hey, I have a loud growling noise on my 97 Cavalier. It generally happens at high speeds 35+ mph. So I thought it was the wheel bearing and I went ahead and replaced the front left... as that is where I thought the sound was coming from.

This didn't stop the sound... now it sounds a little more like it might be comeing from the front right... but I jacked up the Car... tried to jerk the front tires around and they seem to be rather solid (I heard free movement could help diagnose this).

If it helps at all... if I am going 40-50 mph and the sound is loud, then turn my steering wheel slightly to the right, the sound stops... until I have to straighten the wheel again. This only happens when I turn it right... a slight turn left on the steering doesn't seem to change the sound at all. Any suggestions?

I just got a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP that came with a stock remote start. The owner's manual says that the remote start can be programmed to start the fan automatically with it, running either the heat or the ac depending on the temperature. The only problem is that no where in the owner's manual does it tell you how to set it to work! It is really cold, and it would be nice if the remote start in my brand new car worked the way I wanted it to! Pleae help!

I have a 88 Corolla GTS fuel injected, that sputters and cranks but doesn't turn over (it backfires as well). And on the rare occasions that it does run (usually if it sits overnight) it'll run for less than 5 minutes and die. I already checked electrical system(battery, plugs, distributor and starter) and I replaced the fuel filter and checked the air filter. The exhaust system is a bit rusty/loud, but I really think it's the fuel pump. When I turn the key into the on position I can hear a faint buzzing but honestly I'm not positive of what I should be hearing in the first place. When I changed the fuel filter I expected more fuel to be spilled, it only trickled.
Before it died completely I noticed it would hesitate and occasionally jerk around when accelerating. The transmission/clutch and engine is fine. Also, if anyone happens to know anything else about the pump (mechanical/electric?, location?) and what places will test the pump after I take it out that would be great. Thanks

I have a Toyota Cynos Paseo and mainly when the engine is cold it rev's high then low repeatedly, its sounds like the car is going to explode or that im trying to race the car next to me!...without even accelerating the car can drive itself for a short distance. When the engine is warm the rev's calm down.but it has started to run high! I dont think its the choke as ive had the car 2 years and its never done this before. Does anyone know what the problem could be? And if it will be costly?
