While my car was in the shop yesterday the mechanic changed my cabin air filter. When I picked my car up (after paying him $505) my wiper blades parked up. I took it right back in, he checked under the hood, removed a panel by the windsheild and showed me where they changed the filter.
He said the windsheild wiper switch was no where near where they worked making it clear I could set up another appointment to have that too fixed.
Is there anything I can do at home to fix that? I'm sure if I take it back in there he's going to charge me another $200+/- and I can't afford that.

My car is a '98 Buick Regal. He said the motor for the wipers is on the drivers side. That's why it would take more time and money.
I did not pay $505 for just the cabin filter. The front window wouldn't roll up so he had to put in a whole new "regulator" and now it works. He was checking for a water leaks when he saw how dirty the filter was (I saw it and it was nasty).
When I got to work this morning I left wipers on delay so that they'd at least lay down most of the way. When I got in my car after work I don't think I even put the key in but I turned them off and they went all the way down. Woo Hoo! However, when I got in my driveway I thought I'd test them so I washed my windshield and sure enough they stayed up. I left the car off for a few hours with wipers on delay, went back out there, turned them to off and they went down again. I'll try a couple of your ideas tomorrow and let you know what happens. Thank you!
