I have an 02 chevy blazer n the check engine light came on. I went to autozone so they could help me read the code to see what's wrong but the obd II wasn't reading anything i.e. it was blank. After so many trials, the technician told me that there was no power flowing to the connector because it is supposed to activate the reader. What does this mean and what can i do?

You must find out why there is no power to the connector. This could be something simple as a loose connection or something buried in the harness. It will take time and a good wiring diagram.

There is a fuse for the eobd plug so check this and something else you want to think about is that some readers will only read specific software and there are different readers for different type vehicles!

BS! A decent scanner is self-powered, and it should - at the very least - display something like "Unable to communicate with the vehicle". If the display is totally blank - it's the scanner problem.
