I have a 97 Honda Accord and I bought my car used at a 100,000 miles or so. I don't know if the timing belt was ever changed by the previous owner, I didn't think to ask at the time. I really don't have any problems with my car, and I don't hear any abnormal noises coming from my engine. Is there anyway I can tell if it needs to be replaced? Or if I take it to a shop, will they be able to tell me if it needs to be replaced? And how much would it cost me to replace it? I just want to know ahead of time so nothing happens.
