I have a log splitter that has a Brigs 5 HP engine directly coupled to the hydraulic pump. During cold weather, the extreme drag of cold oil prevents the engine from spinning fast enough to create ignition spark and thus it won’t start. I would like to thin the hydraulic oil, and so the question is ... can I use, or mix in, a automatic transmission oil like Dextron III into the hydraulic system to thin out the oil and not cause damage to the system?

Please, only persons with direct knowledge should respond.

My silver car (clear coat finish) has a very, very small paint chip. My question is, wondering if it matters what paint I use to fill it in? I could get some relatively inexpensive silver spray paint at a hardware store, the color would match. (I would spray the paint onto cardboard, and then use a toothpick to fill in the chip).

Is there something unique in touch up paint bought from a car dealer that makes it worth it to buy?

I've got this toyota avalon, well we had some freezing weather. Since then when I'm driving. If I'm driving under 25mph when I turn it wobbles and resists. Plus makes the revs go up. Could this be a power steering pump or possibly a front end alignment. What would this be and how much for the parts if needed?

The gas tnak has been bone dry for the last 3 weeks, so i put a gallon of gas in it, and jumped my battery. Went to turn it on...nothing, so i figured, well the engine cant turn over, so obviously theres no gas getting to the engine, since it was bone dry after all. So went back down to gas station, filled up 1 gallon gas can, and directly poured the gas into my Fuel Injector Head, recharged car (there was about 12 hours in between), went to turn it on, it *almost* turned over, but i just get a clicking sound, and the other 1/2 of the time theres no clickign at all. Its a 89 Pontiac Sunbird, Overhead Cam, Fuel Injection, I live in florida,so weather isnt to bad right now

I've got a '92 240sx LE, and I've managed to put severe dents and creases in most of the panels. I'm adept with the tools I have, but I don't know exactly how to replace these panels myself. I picked up a Chilton's manual, but it doesn't say anything about body panels. I also can't find anything on the web for it, except that everyone has body conversion kits; I don't want to convert it, just replace the damaged panels.
Where can I look up repair information on replacing the body panels? Thanks!

Ok so my coolant has been leaking for awhile now I think atleast. About every 2 weeks I need to refill the coolant. I had been using "orange" coolant up till last refill. I really needed some coolant, as it was seriously effecting engine tempurature, so i bought some normal "green" coolant. Some 50\50 coolant, so i put it in and the engine temperature leveled off. But many people tell me you cant mix green and orange coolant.... so problem is i got a mix of 2 different coolants in a leaking coolant system?! Is this serious and what should i do?

I've been reading around about some radiator and cooling problems I've been having. Some places speak about rodding out the radiator. What is that and how much does it usually cost? Thanks in advance.

I have a 95 3000gt and it started backfiring and losing lots of power, if it did start up it would shake like all hell broke loose. So I check the plugs and all 6 are fouled(black) and smell like gas. So I do a quick tuneup and nothing changes so I pull the plugs and check it and once again all 6 are fouled and smell like gas. So at this time I take it to a garage and they run a compression test and the front three cylinders were perfect 166 but the rear three were at zero. I plan on doing a leak down test this weekend if i can find a shop that does it. I doubt it's piston rings or bent valves but of course I may be wrong. It's quite unusual for that to happen. Any help would be much appreciated..
