This is for state inspection in Texas. I know there's no emissions test, but just wondering what they test for. I just bought a used vehicle and the inspection is due next month. I want to make sure this car passes the inspection.

I have a crack in my windshield but it doesn't obstruct my view, and also, my check engine light comes on due to a bad 02 sensor. It's nothing in the engine itself though.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

All states are different. Just because the crack doesn't impair your view doesn't mean it will pass the inspection. If you plan on keeping the car just take it there and they will let you know what it needs if anything.

the combo of the first and third are correct.

no Check engine light, and the things the first person listed.

the emissions test does exist, its just done by your engines computer, not by a smog machine.

your car cannot have the "check engine" light on in its dash. it needs to have a muffler and a catylic converter in the exhaust system. if it runs fine, there never is any smoke or awkward smell from the vehicle after/during operation you should be fine.
