My brake service statement included
the following:

QTY=2 ,
LOC=F,
DESCRIPTION=DRIVE AXLES,
PARTS=$59.00,
LABOR=$120,
TOTAL=$358

Yep...more than the value of the car....if you check to see what your car is worth now (www.kbb.com) you'll see it's worth nothing...

Drive axle replacement costs between $85.00 to $125.00 per axle at most independent repair shops. It is a fairly easy procedure. Do not let them tell you otherwise. If you go to a dealer they will attempt to baffle you with B.S. and they WILL rip you off.

P.S. you have two axles rightside and leftside

depends on your area, the going price around here in sc. is between $100-150 per side. at auto zone you can buy them for around $50 per side and install them in about an hour auto zone also offer a loaner tool program for a small deposit, which will be refunded when you return the tools. buy the manaul for about $15 or visit your local library for the how to

If you mean having the CV joints replaced or rebuilt, about $200-250 per side.
