The car has 95000 miles and, I have been having problems with gas fumes coming through the vents while driving down the road when the air or the vent is on. I have taken it to 2 dealers to check it out and see what the problems is and both have said nothing was wrong. I know there has to be some kind of issue going on with it. Could this be an evap issue? If it is how could I fix the problem myself?

you wont fix it yourself. if there is no fuel leak it is definitely an evap problem. you have too take it to a garage that has what they call a smoke machine, or a smoke test. this test will hook up to your evap system and fill it with a dense smoke to show where the leak is. most likely it is the solenoid canister/valve usually located in the rear of the car. seen many of these. you may think the smell is coming from the front but it really is not. good luck.

The Grand Prix has a three.8 liter 3800 L36 or L67 (searching on GT, or GTP, they actually have a SE selection) engine it is interior the right 10 record of maximum sturdy engines. I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and performance had 0 complications jointly with her. I in the previous owned a ninety one Grand Prix that gave me no complications besides. I have also began modding my 2000. She only rolled over to at least one hundred and 5,000 miles interior the previous few days and nonetheless operating good. They key's searching after a vehicle. in case you do not safeguard it, you're going to have issues of any vehicle and then you should turn round and blame the maker even as extremely, its the motive force :-)

I would just say theres probably a fuel leak up under the hood somewhere. That or some gas got spilled in there. combatcop has a good idea too, I never thought of that. ya it could be an exhaust leak, thats no problem for an exhaust shop to fix.

Does it smell like raw gas or exhaust? Raw gas smell in the vents may mean a fuel leak. Exhaust smell usually means a exhaust manifold leak.

Scrap it or you will die...No, check the fuel injection system and make sure that it is not leaking. If it is leaking, there is a chance for explosion...So, be careful.
