The car runs good, but has a lot of smoke coming out of the engine compartment after driving. The Dealership says I have oil in the coolant system, NOT water in the oil. Can this be a minor problem, or am I looking at a cracked block ? Thanks for any help.

Ok so heres the problem. Before we took the car to the shop to have work done completely unrelated to the windshield washer mechanism, it worked fine, now the windshield washers dont pump out fluid. They claimed they filled the car full of all fluids when they gave it back to us, yet we tried the windshield washer almost immediately and it didnt work, so we figured they just didnt fill that. Today we bought fluid and filled the tank. Immediately we tried it and it didnt work. Then very shortly later I looked at the tank again and it had gone down a little, so i tried the switch again, still nothing. Is there something I didnt do correctly or something like it takes a while of using it for it to work again after it going completely dry or what? Thanks :) Also, I do not believe it is leaking out the bottom or anything, although i realize this is a possibility, im just looking for other possible causes.

I have removed the bottom portion which holds the BEATER BAR in place. The old belt broke, so i bought a new one but cant seem to figure out how to get to the motor to put the new belt on. There is no where that i can find to remove screws so that the plastic cover can be removed. There must be a way. And I'm pretty good at figuring things out like this....But not this time. PLEASE HELP......AND THANKS.

I have a new shape vauxhall astra on an 04 plate, recently purchased second hand. I have only been driving it for two days but I heard a noticable clunking and grinding today when I applied the brakes. What could this be? Is it costly to repair? Should the previous owner have told me about this?

1994 Lincoln Cont’l V-6 3.8 122,220 Miles

Problem: At times Temp’ Gauge reads above the Normal range and setting off signal. Then returns to normal range if I slow down approx 5 to 10 miles per hour. (SUCH AS, if I am driving 65=70 mile per hour and the temp signal goes off and gauge shows above normal.... After I slow down a little the temp bars immediately goes back to normal...Then I can then drive 70- 80 miles per hour for 50-60 miles and it stays right in the middle of the normal range.
I installed :New Radiator, New Thermostat, New Rad’ Cap #16, New Temp’ Sensor located at the Thermostat housing above engine. I Flushed the cooling system after using Zerox Super Cleaner and installed Barr Leak ( Head and Gasket Block Sealer) following directions to the letter. Then I Flushed cooling system again and installing new Prestone Anti Freeze.
Engine uses no oil and maintains a constant water level in the reserve tank. Does not appear to be loosing water.

We have a 94 Pontiac Grand Prix and it has no heat. the blower works, but only cold air comes out. It has just gotten a new radiator, and we took the thermostat out because with it in the car overheated and was smoking. we have a new thermostat.. but should we put it in, or will the car overheat again? This is our only car, and we have a baby on the way... due feb.12.. and we really need heat in that car, because we live where it is cold and we dont want baby to get sick. what could be wrong with this car, and is there any way that we can fix it ourselves, and how?

1995 Mitsubishi Montero. The brake warning light comes on lately on occasion. Like the hand brake is pulled, but it's not. What else would cause the light to come on? Brakes seem to work fine.

I have had my car since 2001. I haven't really had to do any major work on it. But lately its kind of going down hill. My brakes squeak, something else squeaks when I push the gas pedal, my trunk leaks water when it rains, and I have a slight oil leak and transmission fluid leak. Would it be less expensive to fix those things, or get a new car all together.....? The car I have now is paid off. What do you think?
