1995 Mitsubishi Montero. The brake warning light comes on lately on occasion. Like the hand brake is pulled, but it's not. What else would cause the light to come on? Brakes seem to work fine.

I would say that either your brake pads are worn down and need replaced or your brake fluid is low.. most likely both.
Do not add brake fluid until you check the brake pads. If you have to replace the pads the caliper pistons need to be pressed back in and the fluid will go back up. After the job is done top off the brake fluid.

it might be that the sensor is loose, or maybe the wiring. if its working and you dont mind the light coming on, then dont worry about it. if it bothers you, it should be a cheap fix
