Depending on the type of vehicle a typical front brake job (disc) is about $125.00 If the brake rotors have to be replaced or machined it will cost you more. To tell if you need rotors - do you feel a shaking or vibration when you hit the brakes? (warped rotors - depending on how thin they are they maybe able to machine them) do you hear a grinding noise when you step on the brake, if so then depending on how long they have been grinding & again how thin they are! Call Auto Zone or any automotive store & price the rotors in case you need them, on most cars the price of brake rotors has really decreased in the past couple of years.

Well you don't state what kind of car and what is to be replaced. Or how many miles, if brake work has been done before etc...
Pads should be between $25 and $75 for passenger cars
Most shops charge 1 hour labor and depending where you live that should be from $40 - $80 an hour.
So for pads you could look at $65 - $150 depending on the car and condition.
Rotors (discs) from $50-$200 a set.
Most times it is just pads unless you have a warped or damages brake disc

Depend how you defined "replace". If you are just changing the brake pads, it will cost about $25 to $60. But if you are talking about changing the whole brake disc, it could cost you two - three hundreds.

Well it all depends on what type of car you have . If the breaks are disc or drums, but generally speaking it should run you about 150 to 200 dollars. I do suggest you ask around about info on a good mechanic who knows his stuff, and won't ripe you off. there a lot of bad one out there. Don't go to Firestone they SUCK.
