Also, cannot set the cruise control. Wipers work in all modes but will not dispense any fluid.Just seems to be everything on the steering wheel itself. Had an shady after market stereo put in, will any miswirings cause this or would it be more of fuse or fusible link related. Already purchased and installed a new horn relay which supplies power to the cruise control with no joy. Other than those small details, car runs like a champ.

The description from autozone reads as follow: The PCM has determined that the catalyst system efficiency for bank 2 is below threshold for the current engine operating conditions. (Bank 1 identifies the location of cylinder #1, while bank 2 identifies the cylinders on the opposite bank). In other words, what specific part and area is this description referent to. Thanks

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler (Sahara) and I noticed a few days ago that the oil pressure gauge that would normally read about 40 psi is now reading just about 80 psi consistently. It doesn't matter if it is as soon as I get in the car in the morning or if I'm been on the road for and hour - the pressure is reading high. Other then that, everything seems to be running just fine. Any idea what could be causing this? Is there something I can do or do I need to get to the Jeep into the shop right away? Is this going to end up costing me a small fortune to get corrected?
In case it matters, I do change the oil regularly and it has 160,000+ miles.

My headlights started "misfiring" as if there's a short. When I hit the steering wheel, they came back on. When I was driving back home, though, they went off and I had to turn on my brights. Then, I had to hold the switch for the brights because those started going off! Is there a wire loose or what??!

My Maxima's engine misfires when the engine is cold for the first 3-4 minutes upon accelaration. Mechanic couldn't find any problem with it even though he experienced it himself. Does anyone have similiar experience? It's a 2000 GXE. Started giving problems while I had garaged it for a month while out of town.

I've been driving fine but recently my stick shift has had a hard time going into the slot it should---kind of like when you try to shift down into first and it doesn't work without declutching.. but now it is happening with all the gears, and I have to ram it in there just to go, and I have to press the clutch down the last millimeter into the floor, and sometimes that still won't work.
Sometimes I let out the clutch really fast and let it pop back up (is that what "popping the clutch" is?) and that helps, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could do before taking it to the mechanic next week?

Does anyone out there know anything about the brakes on a 2003 Buick Century? The brakes just started making a noise yesterday (I was told by the dealership this would happen when it was time for brakes). I would like to wait another week until I get them fixed. Do I run the risk of ruining the rotors if I wait a week, or do I have a little time yet?

I have a 97 Grand Am GT with 118,000 miles on it. The current problem with it is it is leaking coolant into to the engine. My mechanic has told me that this was most likely caused from a worn out head gasket. As a result of the problem 1 possible 2 of the cylinders are not firing. It currently runs, but won't for long. I want to get rid of it and fast, but wanted to know what ways i could do that and hopefully still get some money out of it. I know I could sell it to a junkyard, but not really sure how much that would bring. Thought mabye there was a better alternative. O and I'm not going to use it on a trade in cause I have my eye on a private sale. Any help would be very much appreciated.
-Thank You!

a bad catalytic converter, or at least my mechanic said so when my '93 Wrangler (my baby) would not pass inspection. At the same time I was having problems loosing power in 4th and 5th gear, it felt like either there was a problem with the flow, or gas was not flowing. (like a sputter right in the middle of driving 50 mph)....so he replaced the Catalytic Converter and the problem went away, so I assumed that was what it the issue.

BUT the loss of power/sputter is back after 2 weeks. (I have to quickly change from 4th to 5th to 4th to 5th because after 3 seconds it looses all power...it happens 20% of the times I drive in top gear)

Did the Bad Catalytic Converter go bad?

I have a 1995 cavalier...today, it wouldn't hold a charge...we had to push start it. It kept dying and i kept push starting it...and my fiance asked me to keep the gas down to keep the RPMS up to charge the battery...thinking it was an alternator going out. After a few minutes, the car started running really rough and i smelled smoke. When looking under the car, the catalytic converter was red hot...litterally...my fiance said that he thinks one of the cylinders was not firing...not sure on this one...i think it was just trying to die from no battery power what do you guys think?

I have one wire to connect to a feed that is on when the ignition is off and a wire to connect to ignition-on only feed. I was going to use sidelights/ headlights to keep it simple. Anyone know how to remove the dash and/or light switch housing? can i go straight to the fuses that are under the steering wheel? if so what do I connect to? anyone know how to accomplish this seemingly easy task? It's supposed to be a 5 minute job but is annoyingly fiddly. this isn't my strong point! Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

while driving my car pulls back. like if i was down shifting. it only does it after driving a few mins. after a while of it doing that i lost power steering for a moment and two lights came on my dash. it was for only a moment so i am not sure what lights they where. after that it drove normal. i parked th car let it sit for a hour. i drove around a bit and it started to pull back again. some factors that it might be.
my car is due for a oil change but not much only a few 100 miles
it has been colder then usual
my car wasnt driven for a few days
i gased up not to long ago.(still have a full tank)
distreptor was replaced not to long ago
any clue? how much it will cost to fix.
