I'm sure a 5.0L WILL fit. But, like the other guy says, you're looking at a lot more work than it's worth!!!! Besides, why would you WANT to? A 4.6L is way more efficient than the 5.0L, with it's pushrods. You'll get at least 60 more miles per tank of gas.

Your looking at allot of work to do. You need the new engine, tranny, correct fuel system, computer, new exhaust, engine swap motor mounts. To help prevent problems just replace the old motor with a crate engine. It will cost you less then all the custom work needed. You can buy a more upgraded 4.6 over the stock replacement for a little extra! If your looking for that extra kick. You'll have allot less problems just sticking to the correct engine package. And if you were to try to sell it would be a big deterrent for a lot of buys. People like factory style, original packages. Less problems!!!! Less worries!!! Good luck

The 4.6 is just as powerful than the older 5.0s, replace it with the correct motor as you will have more issues thatn just trying to get it to fit.
If your looking for performance you need to realize that many of the bolt on parts for a Mustang 2V 4.6 will bolt up to this car, same engine....
