My headlights started "misfiring" as if there's a short. When I hit the steering wheel, they came back on. When I was driving back home, though, they went off and I had to turn on my brights. Then, I had to hold the switch for the brights because those started going off! Is there a wire loose or what??!

Do you own a new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep? On the new vehicles they have the head light not lights but light go off if you are using the turn signal. This is due to how close the turn signal light itself is to the headlight

Might be a loose wire or short, You definitely need to have it fixed and don't drive at night in the meantime...

I would guess the multifunction switch on the steering column has failed. Take it in, it's a bit complicated to do it yourself.
