I have a '03 Pontiac Bonneville that has a cracked side view passenger side mirror. I found another side mirror unit but not sure how to take the mirror off. Anyone know if there are just clips holding the mirror to the unit? I don't want to try and accidently break it.

It is a 1987 Dodge Ram 4 wheel truck., I swapped the hazard light fuse and checked all of the bulbs but that didn't help. They come on if I have the ignition switch on and a turn signal engaged along with the switch.

My impala doesn't have heat! When I first had this problem it would only work on setting 5. It wouldn't blow on settings 1-4. Then one day it just stopped working period. My car is producing heat because I can feel it coming from the vents it's just not blowing the heat. If anyone can help it would be appreciated...it has been a very cold winter so far!

I have a 99' Chevy truck that leaks power steering fluid. I dump it in, goes right through. Looking for an estimated amount, so when I take it to the shop, I'll know what to expect. Is it something I can fix on my own? Any info will help.

I got in my car to go to work yesterday and it wouldn't get in gear. I carpooled with my wife and when I got home I took a better look. The dipstick was out about an inch. It was slightly bowed and there was about a 16th inch deep ding in the metal itself. I have never noticed my stick being bent before and the ding was definitely pretty fresh.

Another odd thing is that the fluid was still full and the area around it didn't appear to have an fluid on it. I would expect if pressure built up enough to ding the metal as it was pushing out then I would have lost a good amount of fluid.

My car is a 1994 Honda Civic with an Automatic transmission. Thanks for any help.

I loaned my car to a business associate for a weekend. When he returned it, he and I washed the interior and trunk very carefully. In a few days, though, the upholstery began to smell like meat that went bad. I checked the trunk, and we didn't miss anything. What can I do?

We had the head gasket on our Toyota Tercel '98 repaired just before christmas. Within a couple of weeks of driving it the oil light came on and there was hardly any oil left in the tank - no external oil leak (oil leaks were never a problem prior to this repair). So we took it back to the garage and sure enough there's only 50% compression in one of the cylinders and it needs a new engine. The garage admitted that it's a 1 in 100 chance that this can happen with repairing the head-gasket and that this did happen as a result of the 'repair'. Who now has the liability for replacing the engine? So far the garage has said that they won't charge me any labour, but I'm still waiting to hear back from them re: the costs of the replacement engine. Shouldn't they be liable for all costs?

A shop told me the seal to my radiator was comprimised, which explains why it's leaking anti-freeze.
Two questions:
Does this require a brand new radiator to be installed?

If so, what's a estimated cost on a new radiator plus labor?

I drive a 03 nissan altima.

Thanks,

I have a 98 Honda Accord Automatic 4 cyl Vtech that is giving me problems. Few months ago the engine started shutting off while I was driving, this happened a few times within the day and then it was fine for about a week and I experienced the same problems. It started doing it at least every other day. Then I did not have a problem with it for about a month but the other day when I was driving it did it constantly. It would cut off and then I would restart the engine and it would maybe drive 10 feet and cut off again. When the engine cuts off it will let me roll for a little while... feels just like your car does if you run out of gas. When the engine cuts off the speedometer goes to zero immediately. When my engine shuts off I still have full battery power (or so it seems) and I just have to put my car into park and restart the engine. I have stopped driving my car until I can come up with money to fix it. It had gotten to the point where I could not drive without it

My fiance owes around $7,000 on a 2001 Subaru Forrester. The transmission has been acting up for a while and finally gave out yesterday. He brought the car to a mechanic, who estimated the damages at a minimum of $2600 and has said there is a possiblity when they open the system that more things may need to be replaced. With a few other problems (electrical, etc), total repair for the car could be around $4,000. We are trying to decide what the best option is. Some things we are considering-Buying a cheaper used car, saving for the repair and selling the Forrester after repaired (to recoup some cost) or selling it as is and taking a loss. Has anyone experienced a similiar problem when the cost of a repair borders the value of the car and a significant amount is owed? Any recommendations?

I have an old Nokia car kit that I need to get removed. Also, and I don't know whether this is because of the carkit as I only just bought the car, but the bottom row of light on my instrument panel doesn't seem to work. My driver door's light also doesn't work when I open the door, and it doesn't trigger the main light either.

Could this all be down to the car kit? I don't know ANYTHING about cars, so any advice would be appreciated.

Could this be a fuse.....but my logic tells me the non passenger door's lights won't work if it is merely a fuse, as both doors would probably be on the same fuse?

Hopefully this isn't too big a problem!

Thanks for the help
