Everyone has given about the best answer you can get. Either it's valve giudes, seals, piston rings. Theres not very many things that can cause this. If its the valve guides, then you can have your cylinder heads rebuilt or buy remanufactored. But if you have bad rings, you need to overhaul your engine. Dont listen someone that says just re-ring it. Thats a waste of time and money. If the shortblock is bad, get a new one. Along with this you'll have new rings, bearings and a new oil pump. Take it to a local sho and see what they say. Just be causious. GOOD LUCK

Rings and seals. You have to understand that Mitsu, in World War Two made alot of cheap one way planes to crash into our ships. Their quality is not like Toyota,or Honda.

Valve guides, seals, piston rings, general engine wear. How many miles do you have? I would guess it is high, as it sounds like you need an engine rebuilt.
