Fix the car, at least this time. Try and save part of what was your car note for repairs. In my opinion, when the overall cost of repairs for a year exceeds the total of what was your car note for the year, time to sell. Still only you can decide if you want to take on the debt to buy a new car.

just go and get prices on the stuff you need for your explorer and find out how much to put the stuff on and then figure what it would cost you for a new car.i would say it would be cheaper to fix the explorer up.that way you wont have any wolf at your door.just pick up the phone and make some calls for prices.if your explorer runs good then i say fix it up and keep it for a few more years.good luck.

Get it fixed and enjoy no car payments for awhile. When you start spending more and more on the vehicle, and it's no longer cost-effective, trade up!

Remember when you trade up, the monthly payments will be greater than what you were used to; car insurance will be hefty and so will the registration!!!

Fix your car, and start making car payments into a savings account. That way, in two or three years you can pay cash for a car, and not have to make payments or pay interest to a finance company.
