I had a bad service done a while ago and the mechanic didn't put coolant in the rad and the car ran for a couple of weeks before I really noticed and had it drained and re-filled properly. Since then when I'm driving the temperature gauge goes to low and the 'check engine' warning light comes on. If the car is idling the temp gauge goes to normal, but within a couple of miles the gauge goes low again. The car has been serviced since but there's been no change. It only happens if the outside temp is 5 or less and as I live in Scotland that's quite a lot! Any ideas?

I was working on my 1995 Mazda mx6 v6. IIn the process of removing the alternator, I apparently left the negative battery cable connected (me=moron) and while I was disconnecting the alternator I touched the wrench to both the alternator ground wire and the engine block. There was a spark. I disconnected my battery and finished the job. Well after everything was connected and the new alternator back in, I went to start my engine , but I'm not getting any power. None of the lights will even come on. I've checked the fuses and they are fine. Did I just jack up my battery or is there something more serious going on?
Thanks

Every time I get into my Sienna to go somewhere, after a few seconds it will make a weird noise that I can feel through the pedal for about two seconds. It seems to be speed triggered, not time triggered, and it takes a little while, it's not immediate. It also doesn't seem to be related to whether I back out or pull forward, or have anything to do with whether I use the brakes or not.

It reminds me of those old toy cars that had a little plastic strip that touched the gear to make a noise. After it does the noise (EVERY time I go somewhere), it won't do it again until I turn the car off and go somewhere else. I haven't tried putting it back in park after it does the noise to see if it does it again, but I am completely confused as to what it could be. Any ideas? I am hoping it's not something expensive in the transmission.

i drive a 5 speed 95 dodge neon stick-shift. everything was cool with my car untill about an hour ago. my clutch feels really hard to shift! out of the blue it feels like i have to muscle-out every shift. however, a couple times it felt as smooth as ever. what is wrong with my car, and is it safe to drive when it sometimes takes me 15-20 seconds just to shift into 1st?

This car has only 84,000 miles on it but we've been having rough acceleration and noise while shifting gears. It's automatic and sometimes sounds like it skips gears. The Kelley Blue Book states the trade-in value is a little over $3,000. We like the car but don't know if its worth putting that much money into it.
