What type of paint is it? Many types of house paint should peel right off, especially from new/shiny paint, especially if you have wax on it. You could use your fingernails or a popsicle stick.

Be very careful with thinners, paint removers and any sort of petroleum distillate that you don't KNOW is safe. They might dissolve your car's paint, too. If you're going to try anything like that, test it out on your paint in an inconspicuous spot first.

It will depend to some degree on how good your car paintwork was in the first place. If it was cleaned and waxed then it shouldn't be too hard to peel it off with a non-metallic tool. It might take some time to do. Whatever you do do not apply a paint stripper or similar chemical. Probably best to drop by a local body shop and try for some free advice.

Laquer thinner (automotive type) should get it quick. After using it, wash the car very well and wax it.

The thinner will not eat through your clearcoat, but will damage it if you leave it on for an extended time.
