Since you guys (and girls) are all so smart I figured I'll ask a second question. I have a 99 Chevy Cavalier RS. About a year ago the instrument lights for the thermostat and the radio started to dim. Since that time the lights on the radio and thermostat have started to go out.

The lights for the dials (temp control and air flow?) don't work at all any more. There is a separate button for AC and that light will go on as will the light for the defrost button.

On the radio most of the lights for the presets are out but the digital clock still works as does the little LED looking light for the theft deterrent.

I've tried checking the fuses inside the car and they look fine. Might I be missing something or do I need a new radio and instrument panel if I decide I don't want to put up with the annoyance? Any ideas on the cost of the labor for something like this?

Thank you for your answers!

My 2001 Pontiac sunfire Hesitates when starting. Now, the check engine light is on. It runs fine while driving. Gas mileage is good. It is just starting. I don't think it's the starter, as there is no clicking or anything.

I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee with only 78,000 miles. My friend accidentally ran into it and really messed up my passenger side fender and whatever its called that holds the headlight in place. The insurance company gave me about 3000 dollars to fix it. It seems to me that fixing it cosmetically should not cost that much if i do not quite care what it looks like. This is the real problem: The car cannot make sharp turns, it seems as if the front wheels cannot keep up with the back which by my own researching sounds like something to do with the four wheel drive, and at high speeds it seems to drag and make loud grinding/whining noises from the front of the car. When my car was repaired earlier it came back with u joints instead of cv joints, and i was wondering if anyone knew if that was part of the problem? I have about 2,000 more dollars meaning i could probably by a different used car for about 5000 dollars. should i spend money to fix it or just buy a different vehicle?

I have a 95 Ford Escort that the blower motor quit on. I removed the circuit breaker, inspected it and put it back in with no luck. The little red reset button on the breaker was not pushed out to indicate it had been tripped. If it is not the breaker what should I replace???Help it is winter and cold with no heat!

How do you know what kind of oil filter to buy for your car? My manual just tells me about the kind of oil to use and how to change the oil and filter, but says nothing about the filter's specifications.

The car is an 02' Acura RSX. I don't just need to know of some filters that work with my car, that's easy information to find. I need to know how to tell what filter is right for a certain car, and why.

I have an '86 Suburu wagon with 290,000 miles that runs good. However, lately when I turn the key to start it nothing happens the first couple of times I turn the key except the dash lights go on. I put a new starter in it a year ago. I don't mind needing the keep turning the key but what kind of potential trouble am I facing? Should I bring it to the shop? The problem is sometimes it starts on the first key turn so could the shop find anything wrong? I would rather pay to repair it now than get stuck an hour away fromo home. It is not getting progressively worse but I would like to fix it if the shop can figure out the problem. Your thoughts? Should I take it in or just live with it?
