Any ideas whats causing it - someone told me it could be dirty spark plugs - but I just had a tuneup in May. Thanks for your help!

I bet it's the timing belt.

You need to look at the throttle position sensor, it is quite often to blame. remember, NEVER replace ANY part till you know the problem.

if its idling lower tha 1000 rpm then it might be your air control valve
otherwise it could be your timing belt
