This car runs fine until I get gas. After I fuel up it wont idle. I have to let it run with my foot half way to the floor for several minutes after which everythings fine. Ive been to the dealer 8 times and they cant fix it. Help !!!!!! I also have a " service engine soon" light that wont stay out. Everythings current and I had a $400 tuneup. this car has 29.000 miles

alternater,good-battery,good-starter,good-cable connections,good.nissan max.94 model.problems starting.clicks like it's getting fire to the starter but it wont kick over.after about 15 tries it kicks over.any ideas?

i have a 95 mitsubishi eclipse rs. about 2k miles ago, water pump failed and i had to drive it a couple of miles in that situation before reaching the repair shop, so the car was out of timing when i arrived there. the mechanics could fix it but the engine has been shaking when it's running at the idle since then. my mechanics told it's because the valve(s) hit the piston(s) when it was running out of timing. some other guy told it may be a damaged/failed injector. is there any way to understand the real cause of shaking and to fix it?

I have a 1995 Civic in my carport that I haven't taken out for nearly a year. We don't have extreme weather here, between 40 and 90 the entire year. The battery is dead, so I'll need to jump start it, but I'm worried about oil, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The Altinator was making a strange humming sound and now the fan belt is started to make a loud squeaking sound and I can't figure out why it is still leaking oil after I replaced the valve cover gasket last summer and I am not sure were it is coming from. I am putting in about a quart a week and the car has 182,000 miles. What should I do now?

At stop lights my car will idle worse than it used to. If i put in neutral, it smoothes out. It will also smooth out if i take my foot off the brake.
Everything is new, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, IAC valve, oil, tranny fluid, exhaust...not o2 sensors, but check engine light isnt on.
EEC reads 96 (fuel pump curcuit fault, battery to ecu)
My car still gets 20 mpg.

I just asked this question and got good answers but keep in my mind i dont know a single thing about cars, and i forgot to mention a few things
And i really cant ask anyone for help with my car, and cant take it to a mechanic (i live in CO, and its a 98 dodge neon)

last time i drove it was three weeks ago, and the thing that shows if the car is hot or cold kept going up to hot after a few minutes of driving. When it was on hot it would make a beeping noise like the one it makes when my door is opened.Please help me, i obviously dont know anything about cars and cant for to go to a mechanic right now.

I got a 1997 ford contour...and i was driving down the highway....blasting the heat on the medium setting....and then all of a sudden it stopped....now it only works on the high setting...doesnt turn on when its on the low/medium setting?

any ideas?

One guy said it could be the resistor, any ideas on how to fix this?

i had a new tensioner pulley put on a few months ago and a idle pulley and new belt could this be draing the alternator i heard it us self adjusting so it can not be tightened it also has been squeaking for a while when i put soap on it is stops for a day and then the noise comes back
