if the light used to come on when you turned on the ignition key but did not flash but has now started to flash then i think you have one or more glowplugs that are not working and need replacing. if you dont do this then as the weather gets colder the caddy will not start easily or possibly at all

The glow plug light will flash if your engine has a fault ,also the light will flash if you have a problem with the brake lights.

Does it look like a little curly cue thing?.. like a filament in a lightbulb?..if so thats the "glow plugs" light..if you have a diesel, otherwise i dont have a clue

It means either the glow plugs are energising or problem in that area.
