Discovered yesterday (yes, merry christmas indeed) someone has (what looks like) keyed my navy yaris. Its on the passenger door panel - from just under the wing mirror to just short of the handle. Feels deep and I can see what looks like metal.

Obviously want to get it fixed (thinking about selling it within the next year) so it looks like normal and also doesn't start corroding. After a quick read on here I'm getting concerned with how much it will cost. I want a proper job done (ie I don't trust myself to do it and may be too deep for that) - is it better to take it back to the toyota garage and have it done properly - they would definately have the right colour to match although I guess it would be more expensive?

How much is it likely to cost? being just the one panel? I'm wary of using my insurance as have not been driving long enough to have any no claims protection (a year and a half to go!). However I don't have an excess to pay if I was to claim on insurance.

thanks!

I have a 1998 oldsmobile cutlass (the chevy malibu's twin during that generation), and I just noticed that the drivers side floorboard was extremely wet, and smelled moldy. When I pressed paper towels on it, a dark red color transferred over (I'm guessing rust?). I haven't noticed any wetness on the passenger side floorboard, the back seats, or the trunk, only the drivers side floorboard. When I took my all-season mats out, I could feel the dampness all over the entire floorboard (so it got under the mats as well).

One of my friends mentioned something about drain holes in the car being clogged or something? I also checked the rubber door seals, and they look fine. I honestly have no idea what could be causing this (and I don't drink any beverages in my car or track in mud or water or anything, so a spill can definitely be ruled out). Any help would be great, thanks!

My Escort only has about 28,000 miles on it and the check engine light just came on. The temperature gage was pointing towards cold my whole ride home (about 30-40 minutes), so I'm guessing that gage is broken? The temperature tonight was about 35 degrees minimum so the engine could not be froozen. Could this be what is triggering the Check Engine Soon light? Any other thoughts? Has this happened to anyone in the past?

I'm driving a 1992 Honda Accord LX (260,000 miles) oil is leaking into the combustion chamber. I just found that out today when I replaced the old spark plugs. I found three spark plugs with oil, and that's how I found out there was a leak. How helpful can a non-foul adapter be to the engine's performance and how many more miles can I expect this engine to give me? It doesn't blow black smoke and there is no knocking or pinging in the engine. All of your responses are appreciated, thanks!

If I have the fan on anything but low, there is a very obnoxious chirping noise coming from the passenger side of my dash. It is worse when my car is cold, but even when the car has been running awhile, the fan still chirps to some degree. I have a 2000 Honda CRV. I'm afraid it's the blower moter. A very expensive dealer-only part with heavy labor fees.

well, i have a 92' sc400 and something has been draining my battery, i really hope i dont need a new alternator, so ive been trying to find out if there is anything else that could cause this problem. i dont think its my alternator because if i get a jump, and drive for a while, it will start right back up...but if i let it sit for a while, it goes down and wont start...ive already disconected my trunk light, and my antenna motor, just because ive read a few other problems similair to mine that were solved by that. I also recently noticed that my security light stays on when my car is off, it flashes, and i never noticed it before. could that be my proble? also while im driving my electrical stuff is most effected by the turn signals...if that helps....please help, i like my car a lot and i feel sick when it has problems...

Mechanically, why do old Volvo's, BMW's, Mercedes, etc., get more mileage than many American cars of the same value? What do these manufacturers do to create engines that go >250,000 miles (I've had 3 old Volvo's and have gotten >300,00 out of each)?

My 1992 TC will shift gears, but when I let off the gas, it makes a noise like there is a card in the spokes. Also, my power is down to nil. I can drive, but at 4500 RPM I am just able to pull through an intersection. Is this the differential and can I fix it?

There are fuel injector and system cleaners on the market. there are also detergents that go into your oil to help clear out sludge and deposits. What is the safest and best way to both: a) clean the fuel injection system, and; b) the sludge and deposits? What works and which ones may actually do more harm than good.
