I have a 2002 camry Le I've been having problems with white smoke coming from the tail pipe when I crank the vehecial, when I when to add oil there was a small amount of black gummy stuff in the resevoir I checked it a week later and there seems to be even more black gummy billed up in the resevoir, what is this stuff and how do I get rid of it? It seems to make the oil drain slowly when I add to resevoir.

Its called sludge and its from not having the cars oil changed often enough. To get rid of it the oil will need to be changed with the engine hot and at the correct intervals. The white smoke is from water being in the cylinders when you start the car. You need to have your cooling system checked out to find out where the water is leaking from.

It is referred to as 'sludge.' Take a couple of Popsicle sticks and scrape out what you can get to. Then have your oil changed and use a premium oil and filter. This combo will help fight sludge. I'd also recommend an Engine Sentry in the oil filter for a faster, better system cleaning.

I don't know what reservoir you are talking about? Most cars don't have oil reservoirs. Are you talking about on the long dipstick?
