i own a shop,,and yes it will ,,its cutting off the gas supply to it,,and it makes it jump in and out,,it also doesn't let the pressure regulator on it work properly ,this reduces the amount of gas that goes pass the regulator, and reduce the flow of the fuel,,it will make one run really bad ,try replacing it,,its one of the cheapest repairs you can make to a vehicle,,good luck, hope this help,s.merry x-mas.

Do you mean fuel pump or filter>? If you suspect that it is the fuel filter just look at it when the blazer is running and you should see gas go thru it. . Also when you said that it jumps back and forth do you mean it sounds like it wants to die out or does it hesitate so it seems to lunge forward? Next is the blazer hard to start even though it cranks normally? Is the idle rough or stalling? When driving slow does it hesitate? Or when you accelerate does it run faulty? If it is hard to start it could be the fuel pump or other faulty fuel system component. . If it idles rough and or stalls it could be an incorrect fast idle speed or the timing or a clogged pcv valve or faulty distributer rotor or cap. improperly seated valves , incorrect wires or restricted air flow. by having a dirty air cleaner filter. If at low speeds you are having trouble it could be the air cleaner, faulty of fouled spark plugs, or distrib. cap. If the trouble is at higher speeds then it could be incorrect timing, faulty system component. If you suspect that you might have a fouled spark plug very carefully when your car is turned on remove one of the wire connections at the distributer cap . Only remove one at a time. Hold the wire a tiny bit back from the terminal where it had been plugg plugged in ot...to see if each one is working properly. I just had this same problem with my camaro. I had two faulty spark plugs that were fouled with oil so looks like I am going to have to start looking int o if the rings are worn or maybe the valve seals. A good idea might be for you to go to www.autozone and register and they have an online troubleshooter which helps to give you ideas of differnent things that could be wrong. It doesnt cost anything either. The service is very free. AND very helpful. ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................,

Yes it will BUT those Blazers are notorious for bad fuel pumps. Did a few myself. I'd replace the filter and if that doesn't do it, test the fuel pressure to determine if there is a problem with the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator.

Fuel Filters need replaced every other Oil Change Around every 6 to 10,000 Miles. Cars like mine a 95 T-Bird will have a little rust and dirt in the filter. It would be one of the cheapest fixes.

It could, but I would look at my driving habits first. If it is an auto with o.d. you should be over 45 MPH. They will shift back and forth between Drive and O.D. at 42 MPH. You could try driving in regular drive. If it continues, you probably need to change the fuel filter. If you live in the city you should drive in drive only until you can get to over 45MPH.
Good Luck

If the fuel flow is restricted when applying the gas, yes and when you apply less pressure, the speed appears to smooth, than this could be your cause. Also have checked, the air filter and spark plug wire(s).
