you will have to go to the dealer and get a replacement key,any Ford dealership should be able to order a new key for you. It will be expensive though, sorry!

Anti-theft devices are installed in the vehicle for the same reason that it takes passwords to open your email. I would offer same logical answer to Signing up on yahoo and not knowing your password.

Maybe you can ask the previous owner how he used it with the keys he gave you. You can also contact your local Ford dealership for the replacement of your keys.

Just a word of advice, try to check the car before you purchase it.

A lot of time they dont even have a chip in the key. People just say they do. It could be the starter. On my car I was told that it was my ignition, then my alternator, then my key that it had a faulty chip and it ended up being the starer

Sorry, but that particular vehicle REQUIRES the PATS key that you refer to. There's no other way around it. You will need to have it towed to a Ford dealer to two new keys cut and PROGRAMMED in order to be able to start the vehicle.
