About 3 wks ago I asked about balljoints on the blazer and my mechanic said $1000, the few answers I got you guys told me to go elsewhere; well I did and 2 different people told me it didn't need them. I'm pissed that some guy thinks I should pay him $1000 so he can get that BMW he's been wanting. Anyone care to share their experiences w/ cars?

I brought the vehicle to another place and they stated that before they could perform the oil they noticed that the oil pan was stripped. Who do I believe or trust the former or the latter.

I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand AM SE. For a while the key would stick. when i would park and put it into park and turn the key the motor would shut off but the key would go all the way down to where i could pull it out and the lights and the display lights would stay on. Finally one day I could not get the key out at all! I looked around and purchased an ignition lock w/ keys that would fit this car. (it is an automatic) but then someone told me that it wouldnt work if we put it in bc it is something that has to be done at a shop bc of a security thing, it supposedly has to be programmed or something. but a friend of mine said that is not true that is only for fords. and if i can put it in myself, how do i take out the old one? we looked at it and cant figure it out! my friend needs a diagram showing how or something and ive searched all over online and cant find anything that helps him! please tell me anything you can about this and if you have any other questions feel free to email me!

When this happens, I have to disconnect the positive lead to the battery to stop the motor from turning. The engine is not running yet because I have a stuck float and needle in the carb since it sat for a long time without being run. But it fires up when I squirt a little gas into the carb, but then dies out again. The positive battery cable gets really hot when the motor does not stop turning. Any ideas on what it can be?

Maintenance Required light is merely a reminder for the oil change right? I went to jiffylube for the oil change about one or two months ago but this light is on. Do you have any idea why it's doing that? (maybe i forgot to reset the meter?)

I just bought a 1985 f-350 dually with a 351W I got the truck very cheap but had to Jump it to get it home. It ran about 80 miles with the headlights on after we jumped it just fine. But as soon as we got home and turned it off it would not crank at all with out jumping it for about 10-15 min. I drove it agian today about 70miles after jumping it and again it ran just fine and i put a different battery on it and after running it I shut it off and try to crank it agian and it has nothiing with out jumping it. I believe the alternator has to be ok because of it holding up 80 miles with the headlights on bright along with all the running lights. So possibly the regulator (sp)??? Please help!!!!

Have tried longer and shorter blades. Also different types and brands. They only chatter in light rain not when really wet.

About half of the time when I try to start the motor in my boat, I can not get the starter to stop until I disconnect the battery. I have tried two seperate key ignitions, so it is not that. Would it be something in the starter, or something electrical?

I am a vehicle tech and just recently carried out a service on the above and along with the service kit was given a pollen filter. I checked all the usual places without any success, so decided to phone local saab branch who tells me its under glove box nsf, they openly admitted to not changing them because it involved de-gassing the air con and removing the glove box and removing the pipes from around the matrix which i did, guess what, NO pollen filter there. Any ideas where? Any help would be appreciated
