Check the air bag relay. Remove the negative cable from the battery and swap a relay you know to be good into the air bag one and then reconnect the battery to see if the light still comes on. If it's not the relay then don't mess around with the airbags, they are literally explosive.

oooooh Ford huh...Found On the Road Dead.
I owned a Ford Taurus years ago. Mine was a 1995. First, the radiator went out, then the engine, then the catalytic converter. In my opinion, the Taurus is a terrible model. If your Taurus is still running, trade it in while you can!

You have an Air Bag problem. Do not try to fix it yourself. They are dangerous. Only a qualified tech should attempt repairs on it.
Something as simple as a static spark can set it off.

it is the vehicle's technique of telling you that he Supplemental Restraint device is inoperative. it fairly is an illustration that if a collision, the air bag won't installation. the main inexpensive place to take the vehicle is to a powerful physique keep for diagnostics and restoration. Diagnostics you may assume to pay for style of an hour's nicely worth of keep time. maintenance would be in accordance to their findings. The air bag module would be someplace around $3 hundred.00 to $500.00 and sensors could desire to particular be everywhere from $50.00 to $one hundred fifty.00. maintenance could desire to be everywhere from a million to 3 hours. i recommend you're taking the vehicle cut back back to the broker provider or the lot to procure it from, because it fairly is a federally required secure practices device, and prefer seat-belts are required to be in working order on the time of sale. happy Motoring
