Nothing! Don't drive it. It sounds like your friend was driving with the parking brake on and got the brakes so hot that the fluid boiled out of the wheel cylinders or calipers. Don't Jerry rig brakes.
I'm serious. I don't care what any one tells you to put in to get by! Don't listen to them! they're full of it and it's not their life they're risking. Put Dot 3 or 4 brake fluid in it. Which ever your car takes and get the system bled and the brakes themselves inspected. Good luck and don't let anybody in here give you any advice about what you can put in there other that brake fluid. They don't care if they kill you with their wrong advice

Don't even consider trying to drive the car. Aside from the legal ramifications and liabilities of knowingly driving a car with no brakes, you cannot just pour even brake fluid (and lucky if you get the correct type) into the reservoir, it will not solve your problem and give you reliable brakes.

First the cause of the failure must be identified and repaired. Then a the system can be refreshed and bled with the proper brake fluid.

Good luck!

philosophically i would say say is there a CREEK nearby and do u have a PADDLE.

good news its it downhill HALFWAY and WINDY unlike uphill both ways in a SNOWSTORM.

sorry man u cant drive it and adding brake fluid will not help...

u have blown a line on a closed hydraulic system - any pressure applied to the pedal will make the fluid flow only to the least path or resistance the broken line and no where else in the system. DONT DRIVE IT the line has to be repaired.

Get a ride. Don't drive a car with no brakes. Better yet, have it towed to a repair shop. The fluid went somewhere, you have a leak that needs to be repaired.
