Found oil dripping on the garage floor from my MB ML320 (1999). Took it to our local Gemini service (always used them) and they came back stating that the engine needs 'relined'. They cannot perform this service and quoted $3000 to $5000, do be done at the MB dealership only.
Can you please explain the problem in more detail and why it's going to cost so much to get fixed?
What are my options here? Just get it done, leave as is and try to sell or some other strategy?

Is a vauxhall corsa mark 2(52 plate) up to handbrake turns. I know this wears the tyres and stretches the hand brake cable but does it do any more damage? ie to wheel alignment etc

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Am SE.. The other day i went to take my kids to school and went to turn the car and it sounded like it was going to start but never would completly turn over. And the security light was flashing.. After about 20 times of turning it off and on it finally started.. Does anyone have any idea what might have cause it to do that.. My husband and I bought a 1999 ford windstar. (I wanted a minivan he didn't) we bought a used one so we wouldn't have to worry about payments. This POS has been in the shop more times than its been out. The main problem was the check engine light was on. Now, my heat won't work and makes a horrible sound. I took it in and they said the "door" is jammed and won't turn over to heat. Ok, the van is in the shop today, they called me this afternoon and told me that I am going to have to pay $90.00 for them to replace the door. We have a warranty so I didn't think we had to pay anything. The woman @ the dealership told my husband that its not covered by the warranty because... The heat is considered a luxury item. WTF??? We live 30miles south of chicago, IL. How the hell is heat a luxury item?? It snowed here this morning and right now our temp is 41. Are we being scammed by the dealership?

A few months ago we had all four tires on our Ford Windstar replaced, and they told us that we needed new tie-rods, which we couldn't afford. We've been meaning to get them done, but we're broke.

Yesterday on the way to the grocery store, the car started rocking back and forth like a boat as we were driving down the road. It was really freaky. As long as we kept it under 40 MPH it was relatively stable, but still slightly wobbly. If we went OVER 40, it was like a ship on a stormy ocean.

Hubby is on his way to the mechanic right now, but I am just curious as to what it might be.

I have an 85 GMC Suburban and the battery keeps draining. I have replaced the battery and alternator but it still drains. It only drains when I drive the truck. As long as it is in idle it is ok but when I drive and cut it off it acts like it doesn't want to start. Like there is a heavy pull on the battery. I was told that it might be the starter but I want more opinions. Can someone help me?

I have a rover 214 M reg and the keyfob packs up now and then. The AA came out and checked everything but seemed ok . he cleaned it and it started working again. Without the keyfob the immoboliser doesnt turn off , the AA man said theres a special thing you can do with the key turning left then right certain number of times to turn off immoboliser. does anyone know where I can find this code????? Sorry for being so long , needed to explain a bit
