I already have a small MIG welder. I'm thinking into jumping up and buying a TIG welder. Question: Can you control the amperage current low enough for autobody 18 to 10 guage without warage to the sheet metal. Without breaking the bank, which is a good choice to purchase.

I was just given a '96 Chevy Lumina. Everything works fine, but the tail lights do not work. Replaced the bulb and all the fuses (located in the passenger side fuse box) are also working. Is there another place a fuse might be, or what could the possible cause this and remedy this. Thank you for any help.

About 3 months ago my car started having trouble where it would only start sometimes. I found out one of the connections on the battery terminal was loose so tried to fix it. However, it kept on happening and eventually progressed to the point where the car would just shut off while driving. I brought it to my mechanic who looked at the battery and alternator and said the alternator was fine but the battery was done. He put in a used battery and that worked fine till about two weeks ago. Now my car has trouble starting sometimes (it takes a few seconds you can hear it trying to start) and sometimes doesnt at all. Using anything once the engine is off and the key is in accessory position will make it so the next time i try to start it it won't at all (like the battery is getting drained very easily). So I need to bring my car back in soon and I am wondering from anyone with a lot of car knowledge what they think the problem is. Thanks for any responses, sorry for the long post.

Just put new rotors and pads on the front. Went on no problems. Now, however, when applying the brakes, there is a creaking sound. The knuckle seems to actually be flexing. Any experiences with this?

I have a 94 Ford Thunderbird with a 4.6L OHC V8 (modular) ... There's a whining noise that comes from the engine. Its not the power steering because the whining doesnt worsen from moving the steering wheel while idling. The whining is at its loudest at around 1400 rpm. Can anyone help diagnose what this noise is coming from??

i am hearing this weird noise and it only happens when you first start your car after it has been sitting there for a while. you push on the gas and it makes this weird grinding noise which to me sounds like someone scraping a piece of metal on the concrete and after about 5 minutes it goes away. It also seems like the slower you go the more obvious the noise it. any ideas on what it could be and maybe an estimate of how much to fix it?

I test drove a car, and several places on the steering wheel were melted. Not all the way through, about 1/2 inch in and about 3 inches long in 3 or 4 places.

I have no intention of buying the car, especially since the sales man seemed a little shady. I am just curious.

I accidentally put in 3 gallons of diesel in my petrol car. The tank had 10 gallons on petrol when I did this. Since I was confused, I topped it off with 2 more gallons on petrol and kept driving. I have since then driven more than 80 miles and havent noticed a problem. NO smoke , just a little sputtering when started. I called up a mechanic and he asked me to get it to his garage asap. Please help me with suggestion.

I had cut out a rusted area on my jeep, 2in x 2in square. I had cut out a piece of sheet metal to size fiting the hole nicely.
The problem: I don't know how to keep the 2in metal piece in place before tack welding with a MIG. The hole is located up above the Jeep logo without access to the back, where the cowl and side comes together. Any suggestions?
